Philippines

I am from Compostela valley but currently here in Davao City because of my education. As most of you already know, Compostela valley was one of the most devastated place hit by typhoon pablo. And in line with this, I was wondering if asking for donations here on mylot be allowed? I am pretty desperate to find donation to help my fellow Comvaleños by means of providing certain relief goods such as water, food and even clothing. Need feedback on this.

I don't think that is allowed. But I am sure that our fellow countrymen will extend their help in their own small way.

That is so sad. I am really looking forward that such would be allowed here because I believe there are a lot of people outside the Philippines who wanted to help but couldn't such mean to do so.

The Media has been overly good in terms of spreading this news to the public both national and international level. am sure help is on the way, but you can't ask for help here because that's against mylot rules. mylot is online site but can't reach the majority of the filipinos compare to facebook site.don't worry am sure help is on it's way, not immediately i guess

I agree Letran. Media is doing their part in spreading the news. Besides, ABS CBN as well as GMA will surely be soliciting donations through their foundations. This is in addition to what the National Government can allocate for this. The declaration of the place under State of Calamity, will enable the government to release the budget allocated for such calamity.

I hope that it would be acted upon as soon as possible. For now lets just pray for them and for the people who are still missing.I think it is the best way to help them even when we are far away.

Thanks for uplifting my spirit. :) One of the main problems there would be the lack of electricity. Most people having cellphone cannot use their mobile phones because of this. Even my mother told me to stop texting them because their phones might shut down. Hope there will be extra generators to be send there.

Asking donation is not allowed here. Anyway there are many organizations where we can send our donations,be it cash or items. I feel bad watching the news...

Hello kenshin, I feel sorry and sad for what happened to the people in compostella valley. but am more certain that what your asking is "solicitation" and that is forbidden because it's against mylot guidelines in making a post or doing activity here. am sure there's many people that are lending their hands and money to the people of compostella valley, don't panic and stay calm

I guess there is a way to ask donations from our fellow mylotters but that may be done thru private messages on how to send the cash or goods that maybe sent to your place. The problem is, we only know each other by our usernames. Just look for ways, it might be done.

I saw the news a while ago on ABS-CBN. they really are in need of help. I understand that you want to help your "kababayan" but unfortunately asking donations here is strictly prohibited. anyway just like the Sendong victims last year a lot of help will be arriving soon since media, government and NGO's promised to help the people in mindanao.

I think it is not possible in here. We can actually make a donations in our very own little way. And there are NGOs who are in one way or another are reaching out to those who are in their dire need.

Hi Kenshin, I knew that news, I'm from Davao but I'm here in Thailand for a job purpose and I'm so worried when I heard that pesky typhoon, I'm glad that in Davao was not so strong compare to COMVAL, but anyway, I prayed in it that all of those affected can survive and the typhoon Pablo will gone away. In terms of donation, maybe it allowed if someone wishes to help. They can contact you if there is any. Keep safe Philippines and us!!
