Well we had this dance in which we had to wear something like a military pair of pants, camouflage. I was about to buy the cheap pair because it is only good for one use when I found out that a friend has a pair and was willing to lend it to me. So, instead of buying I used the borrowed military pants. After using it and having it washed and ironed, I returned it to the owner. A week passed. I learned that the parents were asked again to repeat the same dance at a particular school program. So I had to go back to borrow the pants again for the fit was also perfect. I kinda liked the pants by then so I thought of bartering it with something if my friend agreed. She did. She did not even want to get anything for it in exchange. She just felt like giving it to me, so I offered to give her a bag which she said was okay. So the following day I brought a slightly used Louis Vuitton (imitation) bag (also given to me by a friend) and gave it to her. She was happy about it and it made me also happy to know that at least two people are now happy--myself and my friend.

It's been a really long time since I last bartered with someone. It was back in high school. With the somewhat little allowance money my friends and I had, we usually resorted to trading stuff. Like a branded pair of shoes for a branded pair of pants for example. Well, that's the most I could barter with. I have a friend who swaps cars. It was a thing done during those not so legal drag races. It's not betting, but really just swapping cars.
