I go all out when I wrap gifts for any occasion but I go all out at Christmas. Even though I only have a few gifts that aren't money I love to wrap them. I use fancy bows and ribbons and if it weren't that all the gifts are for my 9 month old grandson I would put candy canes on them too...in fact I still might and tell my son and d/i/l to eat them...because the baby can't! My favorite is the curly ribbons of all colors they make the gifts look so appealing not to mention they make Christmas pictures look great! I'm on a Christmas roll tonight...lol...so which do you do fancy or just tape it up and put a tag on it?

it is nice if you are not a busy person, why not. Sometimes, I preserved gift wraps and ribbons and reuse them sometimes, I just carefully remove the present inside and keep the box with still wrapped and with ribbons. By I don't wrap anymore, what I did last year at home, was, i put everything in riddle and see if my niece, nephew and sisters will be able to find where I put my gift. I bought quite expensive gifts so the thinking and solving the riddles worth it. we had fun, and my nephew, was expressed his thoughts (he is always the quiet type) "tita, this is so great, exciting and unique you are really smart.

Your nephew is very smart. That was a unique way to get presents. I have nothing but time so spending it wrapping gifts is no problem for me.

CUTE! If I were unwrapping one of your presents, I would not want to ruin the presentation. I am a terrible wrapper. I don't even care what it ends up looking like. Usually it's all runched and horrible and ripping in some places. I am sooo not detail oriented when it comes to it, like you are. But I do agree that hwen they are wrapped nicely, it looks nicer (obviously). I wish I had your patience and/or creativity.

My kids used to unwrap their gifts very slowly and kept the bows and ribbons intact so they could use it next year.

I try hard to make them look really cute....in other words, I do my best, lol! I would put the candy canes on them anyways..I'm sure your son and dil will know this, but it would make it look adorable. I do use bags though too, and try to put the tissue paper up and pretty with bows on the outside of the bags. I sometimes buy flat ornaments that are suppose to be put on trees, but I use them for the packages and that brightens them up too.

Last year I used bags and tissue paper but they were a pain to carry from house to house. I"ve put flat ornaments on mine too.

I like being creative and at the same time practical with my Christmas wrapping. One year I used dressing making pattern paper and added ribbons to it. Another time I used newspapers but to make it enticing, I chose those with memorable headlines or an article that is appropriate for the recipient. Like for a fashion loving cousin, I'd choose articles about fashion designers or for more politically inclined uncles, I'd choose interesting political headlines. Last year I used old magazine and created a montage for each one. Of course there were years when I was too busy and just ended up getting some nice wrapping paper and tag it.

In the past I have used newspaper as wrapping then spruced it up with ribbons and bows. It's very frugal thing to do saving money on wrapping paper which is so expensive.

I wrap my own gifts, except for one I bought at a mall store. They had some school kids out from and for 1.00 wrapped a very nice gift with big bow.

That was very nice of those school kids to save you time and only charge $1. I'm sure they looked very festive.

That is wonderful. Sometimes I put fancy on the gift wrap if have time. Sometimes I just wrap it with wrapper. The thing is I'm always in the rush doing christmas shopping and wrapping. It is really good to put fancy, it makes the gift special. Thanks for this. Have a nice day!

I tend to just wrap and tape, well I do not wrap the presents, as my mum and daughter wrap all of mine, as my hands are not as good as they use to be and I would be for ever there just trying to wrap one. My daughter is the one who always makes her gifts that she do look so good, bows, ribbons as well as those sequins, very posh looking.

Hmmm...the sequins sound like a nice idea. I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks for the idea!

I like to do both. I love to wrap the kids' presents with paper and a bow with cute disney and winnie the pooh paper. If I can't find some cute/pretty paper, then I prefer to put the gifts in a bag with tissue paper sticking out at the top. I don't do fancy ribbons, but I do love the look of them. Very pretty. Sometimes wrapping a gift can be just as exciting as giving the gift and it sounds like you have a lot of fun when it comes to wrapping your gifts.

Hi friend, good to know about your wrapping taste. We must give more attention while packing the Christmas gift, it will attract others with its look and make them to get curious about the gift

I'm not good in wrapping gifts but I always love trying out different kind of wrappers and different ways of wrapping my gifts. A lot of people including me, do appreciate a gift that had been effortly wrapped. It adds up to the gift inside.
