Is Dhoni the best wicket keeper that India has got apart from his captaincy in Test matches(he can still be in ODi & T20). I recon India have got much better wicket keepers than Dhoni behind the stumps as well as front of the stumps(read it as good batters)....few come to mind - Saha, Patel, Karthik...these can be handed the gloves and someone else given a chance to captain. India can do away with Dhoni in the test team and any of the above replacing him just like the australians have done by replacing Haddin and SA by replacing Boucher, their repective country glovemen. What say...

I also think Dhoni is one of the best wicketkeeper and most probably he is not in form right now and would take some rest and time to get in form.

Easily the best that India has got. I have never seen him dropping simple catches or stumpings. If we talk about his batting he is by far the best of India's all wicket keepers. He is my favorite captain too. The confidence which he shows in his part timers is remarkable. HE does not have world class spinners in his team but the amount of pressure he exerts on the opposing team by field placing and bowling changes is something quite amazing. Its alright he is going through a bad patch but it does not means he is no more the best. He was the skipper when India won the T20 world cup and the 50 overs world cup. I don't think any one remembers it anymore. Hope Dhoni answers all his critics on the field.

I'm just pointing to his test captaincy, which has not at all been good and he is not leading from the front in test, like the T20 and ODI were he is leading from the front...might be worth a try to hand some other the test captaincy

I think that Dhoni is one of the best wicketkeeper batsman India has got. I do not think right now there are not too many best wicketkeeper batsman in India. I hope in the future more better players will come for team India. I think most probably Adam Glichrist is one of the best wicketkeeper batsman world had ever seen. I like the way Adam Glichrist strikes the ball and play for the team and keep wickets.

At this moment if you ask by the batting and keeping combo, I think Dhoni is the best that is available. Saha has promised a lot, but has not really given a performance when he has had the chances to really prove that he can perform at this stage. BTW, mind you SA did not replace Boucher till he was forced to retire with that horrible eye injury that he sustained. Cheers! Ram

Yep.. Saha has to prove, but ample chances were not given to him...and about the SA replacing Boucher...I almost forgot that he was injured...sorry for the mis-content

I agree that he is one of the best wicket-keepers that India has ever seen. But at present he is not playing well. Therefore in my opinion he should be rested for some time and give him time work on his weaknesses. By the team selectors can have a look at the youngsters like Parthiv and Karthik. Whoever it may be if he is not playing well he should be dropped. For that there is nothing to consider about his past performance. We live in present and the present will only give us the result.

Dhoni is a good wicketkeeper but he has not been batting well for quite some time. I think he has been unnecessarily occupying a place in the indian team. It is time he should be removed from is captaincy and give opportunity to other players who are raring to play and perform well for the team.

Thats exactly what I think, he has been failing...just like the Australians and South Africans have given other weeket keepers Indians should also be trying out others

Dhoni is one of the best cricketer India had produced and he is rated amongst the best captains and cricketer in World cricket. Probaly only Indian cricketer to have attained this status. Very matured by his nature, very good human being and cool person who really enjoyed his profession rather than being tense on field. His temperament, focus towards the game and ease with which he let his counterparts play their own game led him to lots of victories taking India to higher levels in the field of cricket
