A girl I went to college with messaged me, she wanted to join a few sites including MyLot. I believe she was talking about MyLot needed a math question to verify. She goes I wont join because I cant figure out the question. Now we know why she failed out of college a few times, and now not working (can't hold down a job in the past for more than a month), with a baby and no father. ((2 * 2) + 2 - 2) / 2 = This is the question, I sat there going is this a joke. I wrote it all out, broke it down to how to solve it for her. She goes are ypu sure it's right, I can't figure it out. I even said why not use a calculator if you can't figure it out. She goes I never thought of that. I am horrible at math, and by looking at it I knew the answer.

I'm just laughing. Even a first grader could figure it out.

I wonder if she's like I used to be with math. I was so intimidated by how complicated some problems looked that I convinced myself I couldn't do math. It took me such a long time to get over that! Has Mylot changed things so you have to do a math question to join? I don't remember being asked to do that when I signed up.

Maybe she's really that bad in Math or is not confident with her Math skills.

Wow seriously? Even i'm bad at math and yet I could figure that out, she should get tutoring if she is really that bad at math. They accept it at any college.

There are a variety of websites where your friend could brush up on her math skills. Perhaps, you could serve as an inspiration to her and lead the way by pursuing some subject with which you struggle or engage in study of something you haven't studied before. Coursera, MIT Opencourseware and Khan Academy are just a few of the educational resources available. Khan Academy would probably be the best of those three choices for your friend if she wishes to brush up on her math skills; however, there are many more out there.

Hey when I read the title of this discussion, I thought sure that you were going to be sharing one of those brain teaser math questions that people will post on facebook from time to time. However, this math question that you've shared on here is one that is so simple that my daughter, who is in 4th grade would be able to figure out without struggling to figure it out.
