I was just checking out the new toys that have come out for Christmas and I couldn't believe the Furby's are back and they say it's better than the first ones that came out years ago. So, their better but the price of almost $60 isn't worth it. They were so cute back in the day and everyone I knew had one because they were so much fun! I was thinking of getting one for my Granddaughter until I saw the price! So not worth it. Did you have a Furby when they were all the rage? Would you spend that much money on one now?

I didn't have a Furby "back in the day." I thought that they were interesting, though. Will I get one now that they are again back? Sixty dollars could pay for a nice dinner out with the boyfriend, a few things for the kitchen, a couple weeks' worth of groceries, our satellite dish bill (and have a few dollars left over)... So, shelling out $60 for a toy really is not high on the list of priorities here right now.

I couldn't believe the amount they are charging for this and yes there are better things you can do with that money.

I had a furby in black and white and loved it! It was so fun at first then after a bit I got tired of it. I don't even remember what it did really I just remembered I liked having it until it got needy, haha. I think it had feedings or something and would not be quiet. I would not get one now because I am too old for one. With the way the economy is going though and child I am getting a gift will be some investment into their future vs. overly priced gifts. They'll thank me later.

Yes, they will thank you later. It's a frivolous gift. I remember getting tired of mine very fast too. It just got to be not so much fun.

I bought a fruby for my parrot when they made their second coming out...this is the third. She did not like the stupid thing and called it stupid because it you not answer her when she said something...LOL I spent a lot of time teaching the darn thing to say what she said and it still would not answer her....I pushed the reset button and gave it to a neighbors daughter. At first they thought it would be cool...they too passed it on to another kid because they thought it was stupid... I have no clue what happened after that...

Your parrot! That was such a good idea. Too bad it didn't work.

We have 2 furbies in my home. My 22 year old daughter has one (green it's a boy) it's the first generation. She gave him lately to my 9 year old son. My daughter (the youngest 7 years old) got 1 for Dec. 5th. The 2nd generation bought it for 2.50 euro on the internet(it's a girl and she speaks partly dutch but in a very bad way so my daughter is telling her each time how to speak in the right way). Untill now I can't say this 2nd generation is a better version of the first. The first generation looks way better, talks more, is smaller, doesn't have those ugly feet with nails etc. I also can't say I like the newest generation by it's looks. I would not buy it. My daughter and son like them but nobody at their school ever heard of a furby. Also I don't see them in the shops over here so I don't think it's a rage here (yet). BTW you can buy the newest ones way cheaper online.

It was online that I saw them and none less than $50 but I wouldn't buy one anyway! I don't know why they try to 'perfect' something that already works in the first one.
