My sister-in-law is getting married in December and she picked out a dress that costs $480!! To wear it for one day! That is crazy. Someone would make a fortune if they rented out bridesmaid dresses. Why don't they?? If they do it for tuxedos why not dresses??

I agree with you that $480 bucks is waaaay to much for those bridesmaid dresses. The only nice thing is that they look better now then they used to. There are places that do rent out formal wear, but can be hard to find. Good luck.

I had really cute bridesmaid dresses for my wedding and they cost only $110 - i know it's the brides day but it's rude to not be a little considerate of the budget of their bridesmaids (unless the bride is planning on buying the bridesmaids dress). My husband is in a wedding in a few weeks where the tux RENTAL is $170 - that'a apart from all the expenses (well over $1500) we're spednding to fly to the wedding, rent a car, get a hotel and such.

that's not a lot of amount if your are living in US. Marriage is special occassion, so one should wear special cloths too.

I started looking for brides-maid dresses and stuff. I found some really nice ones at bavid's bridal for only $175 for my girls. and I think the one I want is only $200-300. They should be able to rent out dresses, but at the same time it's a special day, would you want your girls in an already worn dress?
