Green ribbon...

I had this lady tell me to tie a green ribbon around my sink and it would increase the flow of money into my life. She also told me this was a very foolish idea, but it would work. She said it was a "self prompt" and it would help me to keep me focused on my goals every time I see the green ribbon and that ultimately it will increase my flow of abundance. What do you think of this idea? Do you think I should try it? Would you want to try it?

Good day Arieles. Well, i believe there's nothing wrong trying it. It is because there's nothing to lose also. Not that I'm a fanatic of superstitions, but humans as we are, we tend to find symbols for our life and works for us to know if we're in the right track. Just saying :)

I don't look at it as a superstition but more of a mental prompt. You see the ribbon and you automatically think of the goals you have attached to it. It could stand for anything. The more you think about something, the more you are aware of what you are doing. I've attached the meaning of "abundance" to this ribbon. When I see the ribbon, I will think of ways to create more abundance. It will be my actions that caused the abundance to occur, not the ribbon.

I agree with what our friends had shared. I've read on book called the secret that talks about mind setting. My sister in law lend it to me when I was just applying for a job in the government. One thing that I've read was that if we want something, we should condition our mind that we have it already. So on my situation, I was applying in the department, which at that time I was working in their cooperative, I always keep in my mind that I am already working in the government. Of course I never shared it with anybody that time. If clients would come in the office and it happens that I am around, I would be very willing to assist the clients with their needs. Another thing that I've learned is that if we want something, we should picture it always in our mind. That time, I only have one bag which I use everyday whatever clothes I wore. So what I did? I get pictures of beautiful bags in paste those on my wall. Now my room is overflowing with bags and i am giving some to my friends and relatives. So my idea is that if it will help you to be successful, why not? As long as you are not violating any rule, then its a good thing. Have a nice day!

I have read the secret also and it is the truth no doubt. I am glad that we are coming to know the truth now. Many people still do not know about it and I am glad I am part of the ones who know the secret. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

I have read "The Secret" too, by Amanda Brynes and it is a wonderful read. I have the book here at home, because my son bought it for me for Christmas in 2010. Another great book to read is "The Key" by Jack Canfield. Are you familiar with his Chicken Soup for the Soul books? Yeah, I love the conditioning of the mind and acting as though we already possess it. It's a hard one to do, but it's fun. I've gone to the store, and have shopped with my "money" and it was a lot of fun.

It's really up to you. We each have our own way to keep focused on our goals, and one of the more common way is to have a particular object to remind us of that goal of ours. So maybe the green ribbon might serve as a constant reminder being that you use the sink very often. As to the significance of the color, they say that colors are sort of a system of energy that somehow have an effect on everything we do, including money matters. Green represents wealth. I'm not much a believer though on these things, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

I really like the idea of just having a prompt. It's like taking a picture of a place you want to visit and putting it in a prominent place where you will see it everyday and several times a day, and you will be constantly reminded of what it is that you want. I like the color significance too. I'm going to do it, and I'll report back this time next year and let you know what kind of year I had. Remind me though okay?

Sure, I'll remind you about this, but I think you'll still do great next year with or without the green ribbon.

If you're a big biscuit eater and it's something you are going to see everyday, give it a try. I'm at the sink numerous times a day, even if it is just to wash my hands, so it will be a constant reminder.

Just being at the sink de-motivates me and I would not like to connect it with any goal at all apart from a clean kitchen. I would find a sticky note on the biscuit tin more likely to remind me to keep off the calories. A tin for spare change would add up to extra money and I could rattle it from time to time to encourage me to save a little more.

Yes try it, it will not do you harm anyway. It is your belief that will make it happen. this green ribbon will just a significant symbol and yes a reminder to focus on your goal. that's the best. Yes thanks for this I will try it, too.

Hi Mavic. No, it won't do any harm in trying it and I honestly believe this will keep me more focused and much easier than a vision board, but that's another post. I'm going to do this, and then I'll report next year and let everyone know how well it worked. Would you like to join me?

hmmm...around your sink? I could see if she said around your wrist or finger but there's no way I could tie a ribbon around my sink. It takes up 1/3 of my kitchen!

lol..I wouldn't put it on my body. It can be a small ribbon just to act as a reminder

I think what the lady told you is more on motivational idea. I remember when I really want to wear a dress that my mom bought, but the dress is quite small for me. What I did is, I hung that dress in my kitchen, near our dining table. So each time I saw the dress, I eat very less..and it's effective. I was able to fit into that dress after a month

Yes, give it a try my friend. It won't be of harm if you do. Thinking about your friend's logic about the "self prompt" , i think i agree. The green ribbon will be your motivation.

Haha,I think that is OK totally, why not just to have a try?It is easy and cost little, and I think that it can always remind you that you should do more to earn more money,so may be it really can increase the flow of money into your life, haha, good luck to you.

Yeah, if it works it works. It's better than sitting around doing nothing. The prompt sounds silly, but if you are on your way to the store, and you see the ribbon, you will think before you buy items that you don't need or can't use. There is always action behind the motivator. Just tying the ribbon on the sink has no significance unless you put a reason behind it, that's the why. Thanks for commenting
