How Secure is Your Account?

We are fond of signing up and joining social networks and sharing information or connecting third party networks. Are we sure that our accounts are safe? Last night I discover a virus in a form of an application that even my antivirus can't detect it. I've spent hours but seems no good. I researched from Google and found out it was a virus that can monitor and access any account either from internet or local connections. How about others? Are they aware of accessing sites that seems harmful?
