By now I suppose most people have heard about the shooting at a Connecticut elementary school. I’m not going to talk about that shooting but rather why there seems to be so many shootings. We can blame guns or gun regulations for this and other shooting incidences, but is that really the problem?
When I was growing up we watched westerns and detective shows on television as well as World War II dramas all featuring guns. I'm using television as an example of how guns and the use of guns were an everyday occurrence in our nightly entertainment; but in our everyday lives, there wasn’t the gun activity you see today. Most shows today don’t feature guns at all, so what has caused the increase in gun violence? Any thoughts or opinions?

Once more we have another case of
THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS OR THE RIGHT TO SHOOT SCHOOLCHILDREN?
Are we really surprised that things like this happen when you can buy an automatic weapon in WALMART?
IT JUST MAKES NO SENSE!!!

I think that assault riffle made it easier to kill than that Chinese sword or machete or what ever it was. The difference everyone survived in the Chinese attack vs the assault rifle attack. Does common sense ever come into play in these conversations?

If the human race had any common sense, would we have to discuss such things at all?
Common sense can SEE the correlation between the two. It is NOT the weapon, but the person holding it that is the problem.

Lampar, I won't turn this discussion into a anti Obama dicussion, but I do need to point out that 600,000 citizens of all 50 states have signed petitions to remove themselves from the United States under Obama.
Apparently they feel they live under a tyrannical government.
And at close to half of America's citizens are not happy with government ignoring the Constitution regularly.

I have no idea why people do stuff like this, they have to be just really evil. There is really no explanation of this increase in violence other than that a lot of people are evil. Like one of the other mylotters says, It doesn't make any sense!

Then I guess another question should be, why the increase in evil?
