Should we require all teachers conceal carry?

Fatcat has a point but I would suggest that, although it will open up a can of worms, we overturn the laws that the ACLU helped push through years ago concerning the mentally ill. We should enable health care professionals to institutionalize people like that evil shooter when they show signs of instability. Jerod Loughner, the one who murdered so many in Tucson, was known and feared on the campus where he went to school but nobody did anything about it because they could not, by law, force him to get help. People would be alive today if they'd been able to take action. We need a serious overhaul of our mental health care system and the laws that limit it. It would prevent many of these horrific tragedies and get so many of the homeless off the streets and back into a productive life. I would agree with armed guards in the schools, at least one on each floor and at each entrance/exit. Although they may not be as necessary if we would just care for our mentally ill as they should be cared for.

I think there could be draw backs but I think it might be helpful if at least the principal had one.

Personally in my opinion this would be a mistake. Only asking for more problems really, as who is going to make sure everyone there should be able to carry one, and will be trained. In my opinion, this is Far from the answer.

We use to not need security in our schools. Maybe we should look back on those days to see what we did differently.
