Which will it be for you this year, home for Christmas or only wishing you were?

I am the one who is home, but I didn't think that my sons would make it home for Christmas. My daughter lives near by, so I know she is coming for Christmas. Both my sons are serving in the military. My youngest son make it home for Christmas last year but I hadn't seen my oldest son in two years. At a Christmas Party two weeks ago, I cried when we sung that song. I was missing my oldest son so much. Well, the next week, my son surprised us with a 'surprise military homecoming' I cried as I hugged him. He knew and so did my husband, for several months, that he would be able to make it home for Christmas but they wanted to surprise me. I will still be wishing my youngest son will be home this Christmas but I know he is OK and safe as can be, while serving in the military. So, it won't be in my dreams for my oldest son - he is here and we are all looking forward to Christmas Day together!!!

Mine is the home most of the kids come to on Christmas. I wish the others could make it, but they were here for Thanksgiving, so I'll be content with that. "Home" though, still isn't really home to me, since I moved into town from the country. Still, I have a home for them to come to!

Getting everyone home at once is such a joy these days, but it doesn't happen as often as we would like. Glad you still have a home!

I will definitely be home this Christmas, and I like it that way. There is nothing like the comfort of your own home and your own home city!

I agree about being at home, keeper, but if I have to travel to be with family, that beats being separated on the holiday.

All alone sounds sad to me, Maria. I hope you can find a way to be joyful that day despite your loved ones being far away.
