I ordered chinese food last night and of course today I'm reheating the leftovers. The meats and egg roll I can reheat in the oven and it comes out just as good as it was yesterday. I've always had a problem with reheating the pork friend rice. If I do it in the microwave it ends up coming out mushy. If I put it in the oven with the rest of the leftovers it comes out hard. Is there a way to reheat pork fried rice that will make it come out good?

Hi I'll give you a good tip, most Chinese or Asian foods for that matter were prepared by stir frying using a Wok, the best thing to do is purchase one if there is an Asian store near your place. Now here is the way to do it, heat the wok first in medium to low heat, then pour just a little bit of oil to prevent rice from sticking ( see to it that the oil does not burn), now when everything is just the right temperature, pour in the fried rice, increase heat at first and continually stir frying, flipping and turning over the rice using a frying utensil or spatula and seeing to it that none of the rice sticks to the wok by scrapping. If you think the rice is already near your liking, lower the flame, turn it off and cover for a few minutes. Good luck, it would need a lot of time and patience

you are welcome, then just be contented with what you have and the outcome it would produce.

sorry, my comment might be misconstrued as rude, what i mean is continue first what you do best and maybe also take other tips here that might be well suited for the situation or more tailored fit for westerners although the dish is Asian in origin

I love rice and I like to eat egg rolls. Wouldn't you be able to put the pork on top of the burner in a pot? Did you wrap it in a paper towel when you reheated it in the microwave? You might just have to eat it cold if you don't like it muschy. Sounds like canned peas, man those things are nasty. They are so mushy!

If you put it in the microwave with a wet paper towel over the top, it should come out fine.
Another option is to change it up a bit. Wrap it, cheese and, maybe, some additional veggies in a tortilla and heat it that way. You can do that either in the microwave or the oven.
