Christmas is a week away. For those that celebrate Christmas, are there specific traditions that you do with your children or family?

The family tradition that we have always followed is going to mass on Christmas Day. I think most of us do that.

Thanks for sharing! This year we switched things around. We have always went to my mother in laws for snacks and gifts on Christmas Eve, a candle light service, and then bedtime for "Santa" in the morning. But this year we are going to my mothers Christmas Eve for dinner, candle light service and then to my mother in laws for gifts and lunch on Christmas Day. So far every year we make any decorate sugar cookies. However, this year I was asked to do pumpkin pie instead (I think that is because there was no pumpkin pie at thanksgiving this year and everyone was looking forward to pie lol).

My family spends Christmas Eve always at my parents' home, then New Year"s Eve at my in laws. I wish we could somehow switch places on those dates, but Christmas Eve is sad at my in law's house. They'd rather sleep it through than wait for the clock strike 12mn. And besides, my parents always has lots of gifts for the kids to open. While at my in laws, they never bother to buy gifts. They would just be giving out money. I do not want my kids to have an unhappy Christmas.
