I bought some Christmas presents on Amazon.

I have never bought anything from Amazon.com before today but I will definitely be using their site again. I bought my boyfriend 3 books that he's been wanting to read, I bought my mom's boyfriend a Keith Sweat CD and I bought myself a book. The total (with shipping) came to a little over $25. The shipping was $10 of that so I thought it was a bit high but I got everything for quite a discount so I'm not complaining much. I think my Christmas shopping is done now unless I see some extra things I'd like to buy. Only thing is, I need to save up more money. :) What is the best deal that you've gotten on Amazon? What do you think of their shipping costs?

I tried to order items from Amazon but always get the error says "They would not able to deliver items at my address." for each and every item I wanted to buy. So, Amazon is almost useless for me. Items that they are able to deliver to my location are having more cost than local or other online shops.

Some sellers on Amazon will only sell / ship to certain countries and others may also choose to only sell locally. So yes, sometimes it does depend on where you live and who you're buying from. Not all of the products are sold by Amazon. People can sell their own items so it's much like eBay.

I don't really understand how me telling you what I purchased is going to help you, but I bought some books and a cd. Amazon has policies stating that if you don't get your item you can get a refund of your money. It's pretty similiar to eBay but I prefer Amazon.

I would say you got a pretty good deal for all those items no matter that the shipping was 10 bucks. In the stores, books can be from 4.99 to 7.99 each (or more) and the cd around 4.99 to 7.99 also. So even at 5 bucks each that would be around 25 PLUS the shipping. Yeah. You saved some money. At least you didn't have to get out and look for the stuff and maybe an item or 2 is not at one store and then you'd have to look at another. So I guess it saved you some time, too. And gas.

Well, good for you. I still never bought anything online but I'm still planning in the near future since it's christmas and hoping that shipping will not cost that high. I'm sure that I should plan things that I'd like to buy first so I can save money.

amazon is a great place to shop all throughout the year. As like ebay everyday offers more and more. And youll never know what you might find there, for a great price. Of course those shipping codes sure help. I bought a lamp last month for 18.00, and im sure the shipping was at least that. But I had a free shipping coupon...

Happy buying for you. Purchasing online is the least favourite thing for me, I hardly buy anything online. You have your good choice to buy at Amazon at a good discount which is not giving you any complaint of $10 shipping cost. If I get something for good discount thing, I will find it better to buy than wasting more on the same thing.
