Chelsea string of losses in major tournaments continues as the Club World Cup is the latest defeat. Corinthians were more up for the match and showed more fight and determination to win the title and they won it thanks to a winner from Guerrerro. On the other hand, Chelsea had selection problems with Rafa strangely preferring Moses ahead of Oscar. Then they had a misfiring Torres who looked as if he had completely lost sight of the goal. And to make things completely sorry, they had Gary Cahill sent off for kicking out at Emerson.
Rafa was brought in by Roman Abrahamovich in place of Di Matteo as he is supposed to be a master tactician. But so far it has not shown through. How much more patience does Roman have will be an interesting question!!
Cheers!

To be frank, Chelsea was the unlikely winner of the Champions League last season. The team is not balance and this result is clearly expected. With them out of the Champions League this term, one would guess they will concentrate on winning the league. But this will be a big ask of the club and Benitez. As for the the interm manager, I would guess his position will be safe till the end of the season.

With the fact that they are 13 points behind the front runners Man United, I think they are unlikely to mount a challenge for the title this season. Of course, they have one game in hand, but even discounting for that I do not see them in the title race. At best they are in the 4 way battle for the remaining two Champions League spot with Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton.
Cheers!

probably the chealsea period is off and so now they must refund the team and start again because this year chealsea results are a bit poor in relation to the past and even in the club world cup they confirmed this trend for this season!!

What Chelsea need now is a team builder. The older players are all getting slower, but are not allowing youngsters to come through. I think Roman needs to bring in a manager and tell him that he gives him 3 years to re-build Chelsea as a team. But, we all know, Roman cannot wait for 3 years!!
Cheers!

it`s twice lost of Rafael benitez in club world cup
the first when he becomes Manager of Liverpool and his team lost..
i think the role of John Terry gives so many problems for defensive areas of chelsea..gary cahill must learn quickly for being a commander in backline of chelsea..

I was kind of surprised that Corinthians won this game, as they were outplayed by Al Ahly in the semi-final- an Egyptian team outposessed a Brazilian team that game. However, after the first half of this game I could tell that Corinthians was probably going to win, they had more of the ball and by far more chances. It also helped that they had 40,000 fans.
Benitez was brought in to replace Di Matteo, but so far as done a worse job then Di Matteo has. Somebody needs to tell Abramovich that patience is a virtue!

It would be interesting to see, whether Rafa could break the record of Chelsea's coaches. That is the shortest Manager could hold off under Roman Empire
Too bad for Chelsea, with such a good players to have among them ...

Corinthians deserved to win. Chelsea did not do too badly either. It could have been 1-1 but it is just football that it was not. It would have been a good trophy for Chelsea and Rafa. But it is just not to be. Chelsea will do well this season to finish in top three in EPL. Roman may take a new manager to come in for next season but his impatience will make life difficult for whoever he takes in.
