Anyone here who have experience as customer service or sale agent in call center? Someday, I could apply in call center but I have no experience about call center training. I have been denied by interviews in call centers. Only 1 was pass but I failed in a certain exam.
Even senior Mylot member will give me some tips from call center interview.

I worked in a call center before. The key for you to be accepted is not to lie and do not speak any tagalog word. Some people slipped "ano" and they're done. You do not have to speak in American accent for they will teach you that. They just want to see if you can converse in English fluently. Do not tell them that you have plans on going abroad because they do not like that.
They usually ask, "Tell me something about yourself." and "Why should we hire you?"
Your answer should be different and not the ones that they always hear from applicants. It's a plus if you can type really fast because they can assign you to a back office job meaning non-voice and it's not stressful in that department comparing to handling irate customers.

Hello, Cobalto20! I used to be am inbound customer service representative. It was the first and only time that I had that job. Actually, it was the very first job I applied to when I decided to quit my work as co-manager in a pharmacy. I was lucky to have been accepted. Although it was really tough to be part of the company. I went through 4 written exams and 4 interviews all in one day. I was really surprised that I was able to pass the exams when the experience that I only had was my work at the pharmacy.
So, what seems to be the problem with your applications? Did they give you any feedback regarding the results of your examinations?
For interviews, I guess the only way to win them is to be yourself and not show any signs of being nervous. Coz if you let that happen, the interviewer would think that you may not be able to handle pressure from work.

I am currently a Call Center agent but I am not taking calls for more than a year now. I guess to pass the recruitment process, you need to practice your answers during the interview. Sound confident as the recruiters do not really know you personally. Be prepared, their questions are almost the same. Speak slowly but clearly. Also, sell yourself, tell something about you that will make them hire you.

Well I have some friends work in a call center and she told me that it is so stressful, and she always feel very tired and unhappy.
But regarding to your question,I think that it is very easy to prepare the interview, just be aggressive, and be yourself.

For a call center agent is a tough job, I've some friends claimed to have difficulty dealing with the shifting schedules. You can try to apply again, some companies have a training once hired. Even if you have no experience, if they can determine the potential of applicants upon having phone interview.

I used to work as technical support representative in a call center. I didn't know anything about the product we are going to support and I'm glad I was hired. They are really looking for people who could express themselves in English. You don't need to have an American accent for most companies as long as you can easily be understand, clear pronunciation and proper voice modulation. If you are not that good yet then maybe all you need is practice. Watch news in English or videos online, try also reading. Sometimes call center companies need lots of agents urgently, you should try for that one because at times they lessen their requirements since there is a deadline to be met.

Don’t worry about the training. In my case, they are looking for someone who can commit – that means being able to stick it out between the schedules, the shifts and so on. Of course, they will still train you, whether you are a voice or not. But I have to say people who done this type of work before do have an advantage. It doesn’t mean you should take that as an obstacle.
