Do you have a tradition to watch holiday movies?

I must confess that I get excited for this time of year due mainly to nostalgia! I love watching classics like The Christmas Story and Its a Wonderful Life. I enjoy being snuggled deep into my blanket with pillows all around me, listening to the wind and snow blowing outside and watching the stories unfold once more. It really helps keep me happy during this time of year. Over the years I have added to my yearly list. I now watch Elf and The Holiday. I also have found the classic A Mother For Christmas. Olivia Newton John was wonderful in that movie. What are some of your favorites? Do you embrace these classics as I do or be-groan their repeated existence?

In India we do not have specific holiday movies per se. But every bit holiday we have some major movie releases and families generally go to watch these movies during the holidays. The major holiday releases are either for Diwali or for ID. Cheers! Ram

No we do not have movies centered around holidays very often. A few of the religious holidays would have specific movies centered around that religious events. But on the other hand, lot of the movies would try to depict that holiday in some scene to hold the essence of that holiday. Cheers! Ram

Do you have movies that feature India's holidays? That would be considered the same as what I am talking about. I just love the holidays between October and January. Its nice to embrace family and be reminded of the beauty and love of them. The rest of the time we seem to be too busy with life to slow down and celebrate each other. It is a very sad thought if you think about it as life is very short. Still, its the season of giving and more humanity than normal.

It sounds as if you are a movie anytime kind of person. I am as well but there is nothing quite as amazing as Christmas movies. Its the official start of the holiday season. For us Americans anyways.

I love to being snuggled in my blanket with a cup of hot chocolate watching a good Christmas movie. (However, living in Puerto Rico now for two years I don't get to snuggle to much under the blanket.) I especially love "Its a wonderful life" but I also love all the Chevy Chase Christmas Vacations movies and just lifetime christmas movies that they rerun. They all get me into the Christmas spirit.
