RH bill: the men’s side

I think we had enough of discussion about this bill. However I am very much interested on the men’s perspective. It does take two to tango and as much as this is a women’s issue, it will be interesting to see what men view in this bill. I wonder what the men think – whether they are more supportive of this bill or much more against. The floor is open.

I am in favor of the bill, friend. Because it will affect the social well being of the society. This is not whether you are male or female but an issue of health benefits of every individuals.

I don't know if the issue with the Bishop, is resolve since those male are against it. I don't know the reason why they are against RH bill since this is benefit the family. Bishop, says that they are pro-life and what about the welfare of those family that never give enough food, education, shelters and clothes. How can they interpret those things if they really a pro-life activities. They never provide or give something to the needy. They give just a porridge but this is not enough to feed their family...just a minute of hunger. If the population is increase double or triple are those bishop provide land for families that have no place to go?

I'm against the enactment of this bill into law for the same reason espoused by the Church as well as the fear that when this bill becomes law, there's a great chance that this will be amended to include the legalization of abortion. I know that proponents of this bill argue that this isn't a religious issue, but I feel that when we tweak the natural course of events, like conceiving a child, it is a religious issue. This is what I believe in.

I do agree with Jeanneyvonne on this issue, abortion was not being allowed in this bill. They are in no way tolerating women to be aborting their babies. The RH Bill promotes women health, and family planning and of course it sure must be able to educate the people more and prevent them from contracting diseases, and bringing more child into this world because of ignorance... i mean yes there are religious aspects but that must be set apart from what should be made to know. this really is a huge issue, if you ask me. we all have our own to speak of, our own to share. This perhaps won't go away, not for a very long time.

I respect your opinion but I think the abortion issue has been clarified for number of times. And I am sure that conservative members of the Senate also raised that issue. Amendments have been introduced to ensure that all parties are satisfied. I don't want to comment on the religious angle since it will open a big box of worms.

Well I do not think that we are very much affected by the provision since it primarily targets the women in particular since they are the ones that carry the baby in their wombs. I think this is more like pro women than men. I do not think that there is not much for us to say on this bill except that if it is intended for the welfare of the women then I agree with that thought. I think women should be given the choice on what to do with her body provided that abortion would not be part of this. Pregnancy avoidance is acceptable but abortion at the time the baby is in her womb already is not acceptable.

Yes.I believe also that it more pro-women than men, although they play a good part of it. sometimes, when it is being debated, I am wondering how some male lawmakers can be such an expert on these things on women like pregnancy or contraceptives. sure, they have an opinion and that is respected but the women's opinion must matter more because they are the ones directly affected. I guess these men are more than happy than emulated or be stapled with a 'meddling' label, which is usually mentioned to women.

Despite the ulterior motives of the one who created this bill I can say is this bill is for the betterment of our country but abortion should not be legalized.

I wonder, in your opinion, what's their ulterior motive? I think that the bill doesn't endorses abortion and its critics of this bill (especially senators and lawmaker)made sure that enough amendments were made when ti was being deliberated.

Basing on the number of votes of the senators, I think men do agree on RH Bill:)

well, yes. Then again, most members of the senate are men. I think that some men can relate to the issues in this bill, even though it it really focuses on women and children. After all, a couple of a man and woman who starts a family is the primarily audience of this bill. I just hope many men will be open-minded in issues like these because women, even in his modern age is still somewhat treated as properties or even second class.

haha that's true! :D I think its just about the same reason why many of them voted yes is because they are to be the ones that would also benefit from the said bill. :D
