Why are kids influenced by celebrities?

Yes u r absolutely right, teenagers are aping the celebrities blindly and they feel if they imitate them then they will become cool and popular among their peers and friends. i think technology should be held responsible for this as teenagers are getting so much influenced by TV. Besides it is always futile to blame parents as teenagers should be sensible enough to know such things they cannot be spoon fed regarding this at this age. What say?

Yes I absolutely agree with you.Parents themselves are responsible for this.Parenting is not an easy task and maximum parents are not aware of their responsibilities.Kids are in a age of rapid learning phase and easily get induced by the activities they experince around them.In that stage proper parenting have a great influnce on your kids future.Parents should not watch movie containing violence activity or adult content together with them as this will give them long term impression.

The exposure of our kids to media - television, radio, internet, all these contribute to how a kid perceives a certain celebrity. The media has such great influence to our kids and of course, handlers of these celebrities do make ways on how they could catch the attention of these kids. Who to blame? Well, it is hard to blame it all on the parents coz parents are not beside their kids 24/7. Peers has great influence to our kids.
