Hello mylotters Recently I had luckily run into one of my friends who directed me to a article writing job.The employer was searching writers and I was able to send in my application with a sample before the last date and was selected the next day. They cash for a 500 word article is just 1 dollar which is very low,yet something is better than nothin. I have been writing about 5 articles/day for the past 5 days and that is why,I had not been able to participate in mylot. The problem is that,I find it very difficult to complete them after finishing my college hours.Every day,I sleep for barely 4 hours. I hoped that I would improve my speed on writing them, but the physical and mental stress along with the need to concentrate on my studies - would stop me from trying them. What do you think about this.Anyone faced similar situation.

That is very low pay. And you have to write five articles in a day. You should ask for more pay. I don't think it's worth it to earn $5 for five 500 word articles. I once had a client who pays me $1.50 for a 150 word article. At that rate, you should at least get $5 for one 500 word article.

I didn't know that it's difficult to get gigs from Freelancer. I've never tried it even though I'm a member of the site. The thing with me is that I don't like working with just one or two clients. I can't work under pressure too well. I hate working to a deadline. This is the reason why I only work at article writing sites like Helium, Triond and ExpertsColumn. My first gig where I got the client who paid me $1.50 per 150 word article was from a local forum where the people there don't speak or write English very well. So I was able to secure the gig because I can write English very well. You can try that out. Go to your local forum and look for webmasters who are looking for writers who can write English well. Negotiate your pay. Don't just accept any pay. And see how it goes. I hope you'll get a better paying writing job than what you're currently doing. Because from what I can see, your English is very good. Don't undersell yourself.

It is great that you are finally having the opportunity to do some writing for pay. However, I do have to tell you that I think that you are going about it the wrong way because you are just pushing yourself too hard. Being that you are a student, your education should be the main thing that you are concentrating on and your online work should be something that takes a back seat. If you continue to push yourself the way that you've been doing, then it isn't going to be very long at all before you find that you are burned out.

Yes,you are right,I have been concentrating more on finishing th writing work and have not touched my books.I was hoping that I would have a regular schedule of finishing one hour of writing articles and then do my studies. But I could never finish the job within 1 hour. Will try this till the end of december. If it does not affect my studies,I would continue it.

I write articles as often as I can, but I also try to be active here on MyLot, but I don't write an article every day because I'm busy doing a lot of other things to earn money.

I can relate a bit to what you mean. A couple of years ago I was hired by someone to write articles, and I just couldn't keep up with the workload. I'm not in college anymore, but I still had a hard time keeping up. Getting 4 hours of sleep a night isn't good for your health. You're gonna have to try to find some balance between your schooling, and your writing. I don't know how old you are, but stress isn't good for you. Best wishes to you :)

Yes,the work load is been heavy for me.I guessed that only I am unable to take on the load.My friends were able to finish the job in 1 hour.If I get used to writing my articles at a higher speed,I could keep on with it.You are right about my sleep.I have a hard time concentrating in my classes due to a drowsy feeling. Thanks for your response

I too had similar experience. I was forced to write 5 articles per day and it was not all easy for me. I dropped the job after one month and joined a website where I can write only when I want :-)

Hi! Nice to see you back here in myLot. I never tried that kind of job because I'm not into writing. What I am looking for now are some sites that can offer offline typing jobs or proofreading. I heard that there are site offering jobs like these but I can not find any. Can you suggest any site? Thank you!

Hi Narnia, at least you have some money coming in. Even though the rate is very low, you are gaining experience. I think once you have gotten over the first assignment, you can take a good rest, and learn to write faster. If you need more than two hours to finish five articles, that means you either spend too much time on editing, or research. I think you try to complete this assignment, and then you can focus on your study first. Wait till it is the holiday before you start writing again.

Congratulations to you.. though something has been sacrificed. Maybe the constant lack of sleep tires you. the reason why the flow of thoughts are very difficult to come in. I usually sleep when my body needs it I can think more after.

narnia as a student your main job is to study and all these part time jobs are secondary. As far as these jobs dont create distraction from studies then its ok.And you are saying you sleep for only 4 hrs now that is serious and it will affect your health. A normal human being requires 6 to 7 hrs of sleep daily.
