It seems the older my kids get the harder it is to buy them gifts. Usually for my boys who aer 23 and 17 I give them a Visa gift card. Don't get me started on my 8 year old daughter. She goes back and forth with what she likes and it drives me nuts. My husband and I have total opposite taste, so buying him anything is nerve racking too.
For the most part I listen to them when they talk and take hints from what they say they need or want all during the year. This year my oldest moved into his own place. He loves to cook so I got him the most amazing pot set. My other son is in love with clothes so gift card was a easy option. My daughter is in love with this dolls so I got her all of them.
My husband who buys things from Amazon and iTunes at least 3 times a week I got him a giftcard to both.
Do you have a hard time shopping for your family?

I love giving my boys gift cards. They are easy and it takes all of the guessing out of it. But now that my son has is own place, getting him something for his home really worked out for me. Besides, it spent a lot less he was so grateful for the cookware

I don't have a hard time at all. Since hubby and I don't have much money, we just get small things. We usually end up getting the adults something from the_liquor_store, Abd candy for the kids. We don't have kids of our own, so it's easy!

I don't for my own kids but as long as I have money, but for my mother in law we do because we don't see her nearly as much as we should be. Not our faults but a stumbling block between another family member who takes up too much of her time.

I always have a hard time picking one out. I like to get my son and brother one big gift each year. This year took me forever. I finally settles on a stereo for my son, and a computer desk for my brother. I hope they both like them. Merry xmas to you there.

All my children are grown and working, so they have their own money. My husband and I are setting money aside every Christmas for their future, like when they want to purchase a house, for example. We all have enough of the little things (or stuff) in life. So, I would rather contribute to the greater needs of my grown children. When they were young, they had to tell me months in advance what they wanted, so that I could tell Santa Claus - so that the elves had time to make their toys. In other words, I shopped early and they could NOT change their minds. They understood that every year and it saved a lot of stress at Christmas time. My husband and I prefer Christmas 'experiences' that we can share together. Buying tickets to a Christmas concert, etc. We have enough stuff, so we just enjoy doing things together at Christmas.

Not really, they usually tell me what they want and I go and get it. There may be some compromise if it cost too much but other than that I think its pretty easy. My wife usually does the shopping so I'm just a cart pusher or a present hider, my job is pretty easy since no guy ever has to wrap a gift, and if I do have to wrap it, it looks terrible. I'm a gift card kind of shopper, "buy what you want for yourself", that's my motto.

Actually, I don't have a hard time picking which gifts to buy them. I just know what they want and just like you, I would be taking hints from them as well.
