hello there, I love pets, specially dogs and parrots. And my mom is not intrested in keeping any pets at home. We take a huge effort to bring it and keep them properly so that they won't create a mess and does not be a hassle to anyone. But after some days my mom orders to take them out of the house or give it to someone.. I really don't understand how to make my mom realize the value of a pet. guys how would you feel if you are told to do so..?

Of course I will be sad or maybe a bit hurt. They know that I love pets and they would ask me to give them to someone? It just wasn't right. But if they really thought it would be better if I do it--maybe for someone's health or something--then I guess I won't have any choice but to obey them.

well , personally i think that as we are the ones who are going to take care of their cleanliness and hygiene so it would be totally on us how to take care of the pet and ourself at the same time..and every point of life we have to adjust according to the situation, dont you think so..?

indeed. Everything is temporary so we can't be stuck in a certain situation forever. Yep, I take care of my pets, because I'm the one who brought them in our house. It's my responsibility to take good care of them and I'm happy to do so. :)

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand your situation and i know u must be feeling bad about this. I think u should relax first. Then try to talk to your mother in person and make her understand that pets also needs care and affection like human beings. Now every thing rests entirely on u and u have to think of an innovative way to convince her so that she does not show any indifferent attitude towards u and your pets. What say?

hello there, ya, even im thinking of something different..may be when she is in need of something at that time perhaps a puppy should help her in some or the other way, hopefully she will realize the value of a puppy that time.. anyways so do you have your own pet ..and which pet do you like a lot..?

hi rajendraingale I would be very unhappy if asked dto get rid of m y fog. I would then take my dog and my belongings and find an apartment of my own as here In the U S we do not live with our parents by your age.It would be nice if your mom saw the value of a nice pet like a cute puppy dog but too you should have a place of your own too. I g uess we just have different cultures and different customs.Does your mom not know how she makes you feel?" Talk to her and make her see your side of the story.

hello friend, Well yes,the culture beliefs and customs has a major difference between india and US. As you see we kids are bound to stay with our parents so that they can take care of us in a proper way and once we are big enough to take care of ourselves then its our responsibility to take care of our parents. Yes she knew how we would feel for the pet,but for hygiene factors she used to tell us to keep the pet outside the house. Now when I am not in india,We don't have a puppy but we have kept some goldfish in the house. What about you, what pet would you prefer to keep. And would be really honored to share some more things with you my new friend. take care raj india

Although I understand perfectly well that you love animals, you are living in your mother´s house and, of course, she has the last word. I was independent and out of my parent´s house when I was 18 years old, so it is difficult for me to give advise. When I was in my own house, I had rabbits and I did not have to ask for permission to keep them. I hope you solve your problems

I am indeed a pet lover and I have pets since I was still a kid, my Mom and Dad don’t mind having pets at home because they know that having a pet puts a child good responsibilities mainly because you take care of a living thing. You take care on such pet that he/she grows normally like a baby. In fact, I have a pet dog that is three years old now and he is doing so well, we don’t treat him as an animal but hence treat him as part of our family.
