I have just watched 101 Dalmations and now I am thinking of all the poor pets who is going to suffer over this festive season. It's hard for me to understand why people have animals and then abandon them when they want to enjoy the Christmas season when they go on long holidays...

we have many pets, or animals like that here in mexico. As many dont have food for their families, many sure dont have for their dogs and cats. I toss all my scraps out on street corner for those dogs who walk by. I know they are hungry. I wish many would try and feed them. i also have a water deal here, so they can drink water.

God bless your heart! Thank you so much for what you are doing - and by putting water out for them, is wonderful! Im from South Africa and here the poorest of the poor just love to have dogs....yeah ... dogs that also wander the streets looking for food. Our dirt bins are outside and the dogs can easily push it over if we dare to leave food in it. What if you go chat to some of the people in your street and ask them to put their scraps also outside (with some water), or do you think that in doing that more stray animals will be drawn to your road??? Then you have another problem?

Dalmations was an awesome movie and the thing that bothers me about pets is people buy them for their kids for Christmas and after a day or two nobody wants to take care of them.

You are so right! I see it everywhere. I mean, I imagine that a parent is more clever than a child, and in buying it for the child, he accepts responsibility to teach the child to care for the pet.
