As a protest against the gang rape took place five days back with a medical student who was doing her internship in Delhi, people have come out on the streets to express their anger and disgust. People have started to gather in groups at many central points of various cities all across the country from the very next day of this heinous crime. Irrespective of caste, creed, gender, age, educational qualifications almost people from every walk of life are participating in the public demonstration. All of them they want justice from the Government. They want that he Culprits must be given the strongest possible punishment. Some people want these culprits to be hanged while others want immediate changes in the Laws pertaining to such crimes and death penalty should be incorporated in it! This time the mob gathered in Delhi was too big and most important point is that this mob was gathered there without inviting them by any political leader or political group. It was the interest of the people which made them to gather there to fight against the injustice. The mob was too big and yesterday police had to Lathi Charge (Cane) and use water hosing to disperse the mob. In spite of these attempts the mob was still seen throughout the night in very very important places in Delhi and Government had to declare section 144 which prohibits gathering of people at a place. In spite of this few youngsters were seen early in the morning of Sunday when the temperature out side was at 7 degrees and the police officials were desperately trying to stop these youngsters to disperse. Gathering of the people in such a large magnitude without any leader shows the importance of the internet and he social media on it because of which these people could inspire each other to gather at a place for a common cause of fighting against the crime and injustice! This is the power of the social media and with this tool in hand I feel very optimistic and can foresee a better tomorrow as it is being used in a positive manner! Thanks to the social media and especially to the inventor of internet which is now a powerful tool in he society to bring about a revolution for a change! What do you feel about it? Your comments will be highly appreciated! Thanks!

hi AKRao Sorry but this incident is just another one and the only exception is that media has blown it out of proportions. I mean, look at the crime scenario and rapes, eve teasing are rampant in every state. There is nothing new here happening in Delhi to make it the Crime Capital. I agree the crime was heniously executed and the victim is still critically ill apart from the trauma etc. The media was waiting for the world to end so that they could mint money on showing those stuff but unfortunately that did not happen. So they go this case to highlight. Some years earlier a rape of the call center girl in Bangalore was the center of attraction for almost every channel and the same is happening here. The only thing good is that one can expect some better rules for safety of women only to be laid to rest. I must mention, Delhi has too many rules and too many cops around surverying the town and amidst all that such an incident happens - and all rules - the tinted glass, the 40+ minute drive of the bus unnoticed by cops etc - If this happens in the Capital of the Country, you know how the rest of the country fares. For the social media, hahahaha, it is flooded with pictures of ralleys of so called protests by those so called caretakers of humanity and we all know where all that is going to end.... right now, I have too much of spam.

That may well explain many government and regime in middle east and Asia are very worry about social networks media, they see this latest social forum and on-line website as potential trouble maker and tool of unity among the disenfranchised group of people inside their country. Many of these officials have passed restrictive law to ban these type of social network media from their domestic population and erected sophisticated firewall to block their websites. Some of the most popular social networking sites in the world are being black-listed as 'dangerous' to the peace and stability in certain semi-authoritarian and fully repressive country.

Yes; social netwoeking is playing an important role in this kind of acticities and campaigs. Today almost every youngster has an account om FB and they visit it daily and they come to know what is happening in their area; city and world. On every spreading of news is very fast and i has broad range to reaxh. I think Delhi government did jam the internet and sms in Delhi as well. I appreciate all the people who participanted in the campaign and I cpuld see boys there as well that was appreciatable becauase they could feel the same pain as any girl would feel. Today media plays an important role in awareness and joining people together.
