I am trying not to spend so much this Christmas. In fact, I only stick to the basic necessities and have candies for carolers. Gifts will have to be functional and practical.

Christmas has got way to out of control. With people spending on the big things. Yeah sure okay we only live once. But spending so much in people won't bring to any closer. I'd rather just buy smaller gifts. Perhaps some gag gift to share and, laugh over. Stuff like this you remember. Having cold beverages and good food with people you care about. I find Christmas is way to much of a stressful, time of the year. People rushing around to buy things, that others don't need. Christmas should just be about spending time with friends and family. Having a few drinks and relaxing. The hell with all this buying presents, stress and crap.

I didn't get overboard on my spending. I had bills to pay first and then whatever was left over after paying my bills I bought gifts here and there. I bought 2 gifts each for people and spent the same amount of money on each person which was 100 dollars a piece. I could afford a little more spending this year compared to last year which was great for me. Sorry you went overboard on your spending but it happens. Atleast you'll learn for next year not to go overboard.

I have spend loads of money on Christmas and I always do, but this year I have been saving money through out the year, as well as entering loads of competitons, so in the long run less panic. I always ensure that not only do I get the shopping for christmas, but I also shop for an extra two weeks after wards at the same time, as that way far less to worry about. I also feel that there are lots of people that are feeling the pinch more this year than they have ever done, due to all the bills going up all the time.

I am extremely careful this time of the year. You can laugh at me now, but I NEVER enter a shopping mall with all the temptations around me during December. From Oct each year, I make sure that I have enough food in the cupboards and gifts are bought throughout the year, wrapped in kept in a cupboard. The media knows how to hype things up to get our money, and we must be clever not to end up bankrupt, hey!

hi bryanwmc I did not have a budget at all as I had very little money sol I g bought a few things for my son and that was it. I have no credit card only a debit card so I am staying out of debt. I wish I did have a lot of money so I could give my son some things he really needs; but alas I just do n ot have enough.

I wish I had more to spend this year, but it just isn't there. I had to cut back, which most people have had to do, with the economy being what it is. I got the last gift this morning, and got them all wrapped up, so glad i am through there. I only have a few to buy for, so I never go over my budget, when I have one, tht is. It is real easy to spend more than you want to, especially if you enjoy shopping, like I do. I just wish I culd have done more, but I did what I could, and I got what was on their list, so they should be happy;. I think though, that it means more to me to spend the day with my family, than what I spent or didn't spend on Christmas gifts. I hope your Christmas is merry and bright and take care.

I already set aside an amount for the gifts that I have to give to my family and close relatives as well as to my godchildren. But when I went to the mall, I spent already all the money but the gifts are not enough. As much as possible, I don't want to use my credit card this time because of an experience several months ago about lending it to someone which caused me to have some problem which I am still settling as of this time. I want to clear everything before using it again. But it seems that I cannot avoid it with this situation. I need to use my credit card again, he he. Merry Christmas!
