It is very common for the people involved in the sports to be whimsical as far as the sport or game in which they are in is concerned. I know people watching the cricket also have their own whims. As told by Amitabh Bachchan he never watches a live mach though he is a big fan of Indian cricket as he feels that India looses the match whenever he watches one!
We have got lot of Jinx or whims in our horse racing too. Today in this discussion while the rest of World is discussing about the great Indian Cricketer, who is known as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar’s achievements on is retirement from One Day International Matches, I would like to discuss about his whims which he had as a cricket player. I think these whims have been discussed many a times in the past on various TV channels!
Sachin Tendulkar is a hard core devotee of Lord Ganesha and Sai Baba of Shirdi. He always used to carry the photographs of these two in his sports Kit. He always used to have a glimpse of these two figures before entering the stadium for batting. For that matter he is a die hard devotee of Late Satya Sai Baba of Puttaparthy also. He cried like a child in public at the sad demise of Sai Baba. He also cancelled his Birth Day Party Celebration which was scheduled at that time.
Bats men use the pads for protecting the legs in cricket. Most of the players don’t mind wearing any pad first. But Sachin Tendulkar always used to tie his left pad first while getting dressed up for his batting.
He had the habit of looking at the sky after entering into the playing area of the stadium at least once before starting his batting. He was seen doing this gesture when he has completed his century immediately after the sad demise of his father.
How about you, do you have whims or jinx in your life? It will be highly appreciated if you can share them here! Thanks!

The legend retires from the cricket.End of a golden era. No one can replace him. Really felt sad for him the way he left the Odi's. He was not supported when he required the most. Good to see that you have so much knowledge of sachin's personal life. Always love to hear about the personal life of such greats. Yes i saw him looking up to the heavens many times as most of the players do. I know one whim of the great shoaib akhtar that he always used to make a hole in his shoe so that his thumb can come out and feels relax.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well it is like an end of a golden era and i was emotional after hearing this piece of news. I could not believe when this news was flashed on the news channel and i thought it was all rumors. But then i saw his personalized letter to the BCCI where he announced his retirement.
To be very honest, it is really acceptable for me and i think India has lost a gem and i m sure he took this decision under immense pressure to perform.
What say?

We all have some or other whims or special things which we do not do away with. So, it is not surprising that Sachin also had got them. many other cricketers too have had them in the past.
