Oh i am sometimes really wondering if my mom is just pulling my leg or what?! Every time she eats, she needs to have a coke or 7 up with her so that right after meal, she can burp easily... otherwise she would say her digestion is not fully functioning well and she won't feel any better. Its been a week that we have stopped buying softdrinks so she can get off the sugar she does not need... and every after meal she would be as annoying and would tell us she feels too bad about her tummy being full, and she isn't burping and every other reasons you can think of! Ah... can anyone of you suggest a natural way for her to lose the cravings for softdrinks and still burp after meal? We wouldn't want her having gas and all.. and yes, she's a bit too old to have a good digestion, but we want her to be healthy now, of course... thank you in advance!

i really think my mom would like cola. just today i am unable to control her. we stopped buying and she would let others buy for her! =( i think we will have to let others know that we can't let her drink sodas anymore, not coke zero as it is not good for her, the artificial sugar...
thank you for sharing the link to me, i have read it and i will monitor my mom's eating habits and see to it she drinks water often.

Hello chiyosan. Some year aago I read that people that had to have their vocal cord removed due to cancer had to learn to burp in order to talk again. Also your mother my be eating to ft which is causing her to swallow a lot of air so she feels the need to burp. Since she feels that she needs a soda to get rid of the air you might get her carbonated water. It has the bubbles but no sugar. If that work you can get a machine that makes the carbonated water. I have purchased carbonated water at Walmart. I plan to buy or make one soon. Amazon.com has them for about $80.00. I line to add lemon juice for flavoring.

Ah, i see. i really do not know what to make of it, especially that she wanted to burp and she needs a softdrinks to that.. maybe i can try to suggest to her to try carbonated water, there are those here, i see them in the convenient stores... perhaps she can try those at least, she won't have to drink those artificial sweeteners no more.. thank you so much for this deebomb.

Here is a site that might help http://earthclinic.com/CURES/indigestion.html The apple cider vinegar they speak of is organic. If it's not organic most of the good stuff has been filtered out and it either won't work or won't work as good. Also ginger tea or peppermint tea taken after a meal can be quite effective.

oh yeah i heard green tea works well for digestion, i think its going to be good if i find something.. my guess though as my mom is hard headed, she would have a lot of reasons not to have this tea, she will say she wants a cold drink after a meal not tea! =(

It is not good idea to take softdrinks each time after meal.I don't say that softdrinks will help in digestion but long term use is not at all good. You should ask her to take effervescent powder like ENO or GASOFAST as these are perticularly for them who feels gastric discomform straight after meal. Also ask her to do little exercise which improves digestion and prevent gastric discomfort.
