First Carbonara was just a 3 star...tsk tsk tsk

I was quite excited to make my first Carbonara with fettuccine and carbonara sauce. We used to always have spaghetti with tomato sauce. However, I made the wrong decision to use butter to saute the garlic and onions with. I had too much of it, and it made the sauce too salty. I had to add more milk and cream. I was able to remedy it a bit, but it didn't get to "wow" my family, as much as they loved my husband's spaghetti.
I guess I'm never going to mess with pasta anymore.

Just because your first attempt at the dish didn't elicit a "wow" from your family doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to make it again. It can sometimes take a while to master a dish.
