I told mylot about the homeless family last month I gave the blanket to... Well after doing so well xmas eve here in cafe, I decided to give them bus tickets to go to the big city today. They told me they had family there, but could never get there. Im hoping once they get there today, the family will help them. Thats my wish. We take it for granite that 54.00 is alot to some and millions to others. I hope they have a merry xmas.

I just felt so bad, thinking they had no xmas. And a few days ago the kids told me that an aunt had invited them for xmas. So I decided to help them. They leave here in about 2 hours. Merry xmas to you as well.

Yes, I read your other few discussions about it. I hope they can get some help, and get back on their feet. It is really hard to get back on your feet especially once you get so far back. Also, some don't want to help themselves, my older brother lived on the streets and from person to persons house for years.

I agree, I think their only chance is to stay with the uncle. I know the wife cleans houses for food sometimes. But Im not sure if the dad does anything. I see him all day, back and forth from park to school. lets hope this helps them get back on their feet.

that was such a nice thing for you to do. Not everyone is able to give or don't think to on the holiday but you have helped this family and I hope you feel good for it because it is a great thing.

Oh goodness that is scary. I do hope they stay somewhere safe because they could be sick in the cold or worse. That is a caring gesture of yours, giving your hard earned money for this family.

Yes, there are many times in life we tend to take everything for granted, and never Stop to think about those less fortunate than us. Many times we even tend to think it is their own fault, etc. that they are homeless as well. But maybe we do need to STOP and open our eyes more, and see what is really around us, and see what we might be able to do to help. My husband and I help do the homeless ministry thru our church when we can, and it has really been a pleasure being able to work with some of the people. We have gotten hugs from a lot of them and it really brightens our day. We have taken time to bring them sandwiches, water, blankets, etc. from time to time, and it really does help. We even give some of them special treats and such from time to time just to let someone know we care. Many feel it is not worth taking time to talk with them, but a lot of them are just down on their luck, and I always feel when you take time to reach out and give to others, someone in turn will turn around and give back to you.

we sure do, I had a great xmas in cafe. Business was great both the 24th and 25th. My dad and brother said it because I was a good girl to the homeless family a few days before. And the man upstairs was telling me thanks for a great deed.

That was a real nice thing you did for them. Maybe they will have a real good night and feel wanted. You're right, we all take things for granted. And a few dollars to some does seem like millions. I hope you had the chance to speak to them afterwards. An update would be nice to hear about.

Good for you, this is praiseworthy. few people who make gifts on these holidays is important to feel satisfied. It is also nice knowing that when you get a little more. nice day! Merry Christmas!

You made someone's Christmas mariaperalta! what a lovely idea to give that family bus tickets so that they could meet up with their family. I hope that you hear some good news from them when you next see them and that their extended family will take an interest and help them. You have taken the trouble to find out what they needed, not what you thought they needed, and the result could change their lives for the better.

I just would not have been happy, looking out my office window on xmas day, and seeing those kids in that park. It was cold and raining here, most of the day. At least I know they spent the day inside on xmas. Hope I get a call today, that they are staying in the city with the uncle. i will let you know here...

My mother taught me that, I just wish more people in the world would try and help these kind of people. Sometimes they just need a break or two..
