How I hate autocorrect

I've been using a different browser, and it has autocorrect. I never had it on my old browser, or computer so I never would really read over what I write. My friend was so confused at what I wrote, she sent back a message asking if that's what I meant. I sort of chuckled as it wasn't but autocorrect just filled it in.

Thank you. I will have to venture into trying to figure it out. Can you tell I'm not a computer person?.

hi Ricki I just unchecked the auto correct on my firefox as I will do any correcting myself as only I know just what i want to say. there should be a place for you to uncheck this autocorrect feature so you may have to hunt for it.

I am.using firefox as well but I never had this feature! Other members where talking about it here but I didn't find how it can be turned on. Could you please tell me where to find the option to turn it on? I want to try it!

sometimes the autocorrect feature cna be useful especially when you write much and really fast but in some cases it can be a little bit uncomfortable so you can uncheck this feature if you judge not really useful for you!!

yes sometimes it happenes when you write a brand name for example and so the autocorrect can't recognize the word and so it replaces using a word that hasn't the same meaning..from this point of view it can be uncomfortable!!

I have never had it on a good note, it always changes it to a completely different word. I found this with a few posts here, I stare at them, and then realize autocorrect has put a completely different word.

You might be install an add-on with your browser toolbar or in your computer which is auto correct anything that you write.

There are two different things that I can think of that drive me absolutely insane. The first of these things is T9 predictive texting on the cell phone and the other thing is autocorrect. I have to be completely honest that when I see either of these things going on with an electronic that I'm using, I will immediately turn them off because of the fact that they drive me up the wall. I can't remember how to do it with Chrome, but I know that you can turn it off.

T9 texting irritated me too, it doesn't happen on my phone. But my older phone once in awhile I would have to switch it back to regular.

Yes, I do not like autocorrect either. While it does make things easier for people to type, it cannot predict all the time what the user is trying to type. I prefer not using autocorrect because it will encourage me to practice on my typing. I am a rather slow typist. But I have been slowly using software programs to help me type faster, which will make me less dependent on autocorrect.
