It observed that a strom is hitting the Philippines in 2 consecutive years in December. Last year, Sendong now Pablo and Quinta. This weather disturbance rarely happened in the f=past decades. Is this a part of the climate change already? I just hope that people should learn fromt his incidents that really killed many fellow Filipinos and left some devastated. Good day mylotters.

Hi there asdomencil. Hearing the news about our fellow Filipino typhoon victims is really saddening and in my opinion, some learned their lesson but the others won't. I heard there was illegal logging in the area that caused the flash flood. I can't believe there were really these few people that only care about themselves and money that they don't care if they hurt people in the process. Have a nice day as well.

Let us add illegal mining also. Which is one cause for the soil to become soft and the reason for others people to lost their lives.

@fheroan. I agree with you, there really some that doesn't care about others just to earn money. I heard that most loggers are given permit by the local government. In this case, the local officials has also the responsibility in the illegal logging and other activities that damagaed the mountains. @Aries, yes, we should not forget about the mining activities too that has a great impact on our environment.

Well somehow it is very hard to prevent mother nature.. we really could, all we could do is make our building stronger, our drainage better.. no more illegal logging to prevent flash floods and landslides.. as we are near the pacific there will always be that kind of typhoon whether we like it or not.

I agree with you. We cannot control our nature. However, we can prevent the possible disasters that we might get from it. Just like what you said, proper drainage systems and stopping illegal logging is a way in preventing possible devastation. Some experts also noticed that typhoons are changing tracks right now. Like the latest mindanao has been rarely passed by typhoon but now, they are frequently visited.

Hi, Al Gore may be right after all. We see all kinds of weather disturbances all around that defies the normal pattern of past years. I used to stay indoors all week when rains just pour for days without let up with only a minor rise on the water of the creek nearby. Now, a little shower could send people scampering for shelter fueled by the constant harangue from radio stations out to make a killing out of the event. Then there are those who blame HAARP, that obscure experimental station from way back. I can't make sense of this all. I may say, it's just the normal weather pattern of the modern times after all, or is it?

I agree with you. The weather pattern nowadays are really different in the past decades. I have no idea about the HARRP but heard it before. I really don't know if the project was really true or they are just making rumors on its effect on our weather system.

Same here in mexico, we have had 6 days of rain, winds, and cold here. We are told to have more for next 7-10 days. We get rain here in dec. but never for so many days. Our rains are more jan. and feb. Take care there. Stay inside, where its safe for you... :)

For teh past 10 years, this is the only Christmas and New year Season that rained in our place. I think the weather has already changed its pattern. Good thing that rain in our place lasts only for few minutes. However, the sun is not yet showing.
