Do you keep a gun in the house or car?

We keep hearing of shooting incidents around the world where innocent people are killed. On the other hand more and more people feel insecure because of rising crime. An increasing number of people seem to be acquiring guns nowadays ostensibly to keep themselves and their families safe. Some people keep the gun or guns in a safe in the house while others keep them in their car since even travelling is considered unsafe by some. I was mulling over purchasing a gun too for keeping in the house or taking it with me when I drive long-distance. What are your thoughts?
