Don't These 'Fix Us, Jesus!'-Christians Give Christianity a Bad Name?

These "Jesus Walkers" (http://www.facebook.com/TheJesusWalkers) make me sick! Because the only god who does stuff is Satan ("the god of this world," the Bible says) The only thing Jesus ever did is provide The Best Example---you might break it down to several example (most involving 'not letting sin exist'). But He left, and is not coming back---not to fix anything we have in the world today. No! To fix anything we have in the world today, we need exactly whom G*d entrusted the job to for all eternity---OTHER HUMANS! We need them (AND us) all to make the right choices, again-&-again. Isn't it a little late to ask for G*d's help? Wouldn't we need to 'LOSE' something in order to get ourselves back on good terms with G*d? Something that--some might say--would 'throw us back into the stone age'?

i am not a follower of jesus but every thing is based on my believe. i am just leaving a note so that it won't hurt you feelings. i don't think you need to loose any thing to go with god except for your mind and soul should constantly pooja him. i think pooja equals prayer in your believes. here i am speaking of mind and not the physical terms and he (god) shall help us.

I think what you mean by pooja is what Christians call 'have faith' (like you 'have faith' that the ground is firm beneath your feet when you run across the field). You're right that I need to disregard what "people" say about G*d and stick with what G*d tells me, but I feel I need to stop others from leading still others off of the paths G*d has given them.

Pooja is like a way of surrendering yourself to the lord. Faith as entirely different terms. Faith can be also preferred to guru , parents and friends. But while praying we surrender our self to lord - our mind and soul only have image of lord. As for stopping the people from god path...we need to question ourself whether we know about lord. lord as many paths and we are mere trying to reach him. If someone takes wrong path god will take care of it. He knows better than us, so its better leaving to the lord and your mind will be at peace.

I think we need God for everything and relying upon people/humans, is what has gotten the world where it's at now. But if only some of the people want God to help and the rest want nothing to do with God.. well, perhaps you can see the dilemma. Since God gave the ability to choose (what's referred to as 'free-will') it's not likely He's going to over ride human will, otherwise He could've done that many times before already. I'm thinking He won't over ride human will until it's unavoidable, aka, we are on the brink of self annihilation.. Isn't that why He confused the languages at the building of Babel Tower, when His thought is recorded "there is no stopping what they can manage to carry out" because they are all working together, "let us" (Father and Son) "confuse their languages so they leave off this building of the tower" - this being one world/global.

That's why I don't really want to learn any foreign languages ... in fact, I should've started a petition against it in high-school---saying foreign language was 'against my religion.' But no. G*d set the rules, and then backed off to watch man figure it out. Man started-out shaky, but Jesus found the right way through it. And no, it wasn't 'two guys up there deciding'; there is only one G*d, and He comes to us in different ways. But He doesn't DO anything!

Wow! First Satan isn't a G-d unless you see G-d having a brother. second. I thought Jesus brought/brings hope. He Helps you get through.I never thought G-d was going to "fix" anything. but then again I never thought us humans were Suppose to fix anything either. We are here just to be here. Everything else is up to us. Most of us won't try to fix anything.

Can't you use 'god' when you're not referring to G-d specifically? And isn't G-d talking about Himself in the plural anyway, indicating that He is 'more than one being'? And didn't He tell Man to be stewards of The Garden (to protect it, to fix what needs fixing)?

May you be enlightened my dear. You are obviously living in a world of unbelief and that makes you blind. You are unable to see the Light and hence you can't see the truth. God did not leave us at all. It is you and other unbelievers who left Him. Only God has the power over all. No Human can ever do what God can do. Now if you want to look for a humans who can help you fix this world ... then do, but one thing is sure, you will fail.

You said and I quote: "G*d (spelled out of respect for Him ... pity you dare to contain Him in a "word" like god---a name He must then share with Satan)?" Again dear you are very wrong because while Satan is called god of this world in 2 Corinthians 4:4 to drive an important message, this does not mean that Satan could share with God's holiness and be equal with God. Take note that god is spelled not with a capital G in that verse. God is God and nobody else could be God so you are very wrong into thinking that when we write God we are sharing this name to Satan. You are actually not doing this out of respect but out of your ignorance you are actually disrespecting His Holy Name. Sorry but that is the truth.

That's the same kind of logic that 'proves' that I came to Earth when a stork brought me from Heaven. I.e. not logically true at all, but I've heard people say it a buncha times

I am so glad to read about your discussion. It brings to mind the quote by Jesus in the New Testament, "Know ye not that ye are gods?" which basically means that whatever Jesus did to achieve enlightenment and illumination is very much achievable, he was also trying to address that we just don't like to take responsibility for our actions because we like to depend on someone else for our salvation.

Exactly! Too bad all His 'friends' the apostles "passed the buck" and made us throw all the responsibility on Him (who AIN'T GONNA DO NUFFIN` )

You sound a little like you are preaching there... I don't mind anyone who has religious beliefs, in fact some of my best friends are people of faith. The Christians that judge others give Christians a bad name The Christians that are unforgiving give Christians a bad name Many Christians are like this - they live here and their disgusting comments are posted on a daily basis
