Sometimes it is not easy to recognize the difference between foreigners

Last night I watched a movie called Aravt Ten Soldiers of Chinggis Khaan. I guessed it is a Mongolian movie. Since I have never watched a Mongolian movie before and it is hardly for me to see a Mongolian here. So I felt confused to watch this movie since I couldn't really tell the difference between the characters in this movie because they almost looked the same in my eyes. Perhaps this is just like some Europeans say that it is not easy for them to tell the difference between Asians

There ya go. I've heard it said about a lot of races. I even heard it said about white people, though the person did say that the different hair color did make it so that all blondes looked the same and all those people with dark hair... I can tell a little difference between certain groups of asian people, but its harder than for me to tell other races... I have to say that people that say "they all look the same" mean more that one oriental looks like another rather than one racial group looking different than another. So, if you say - here are two oriental men and the person sees them only briefly, he'd not be able to tell them apart later. Rather than having a Vietnamese and a Mongolian stand next to each other and ask if he could tell they were of different ethnic groups. I've seen that problem addressed in science fiction where an alien says: "all those humans, they all look alike."

No, but I think the description had them looking like a cross between praying mantis and a lobster...

I have felt this before during my trips.I actually felt most people look the same in some cases the Asians are a little short but I could not differentiate the people that easily but I done know how I guess you can only differentiate them based on physical and race.

We are all people, only create in different ingredients in the genetic gene pool. besides, it's cool to have different cultures because you got learn from each other. i feel boring and sad if all asians like us have the same culture and beliefs. this proves that even though we are different, there are similarities but different languages and accomplishments

If you seldom contact a certain race of people, you may not tell the difference very well.

First of all: the shape of the eyes does make a difference about how you see (not look like). Secondly: many people do look the same since there are whole villages who are family. You will find them in my country also. I think the fact many people also don't see the difference is because they are not that interested in each other anymore. Be honest: how many people do look eachother in the eyes? In many cultures it's not even allowed to do so! By the eyes (look in the eyes plus the shape) you can recognize a person (it's what my African husband says so sounds to me they don't find it easy either to see the difference between black people if it comes to that). But most of us only listen to the sound of the voice, or recognize someone by the way he walks etc. It's even more and more common/habit not to remember a face or name. It was completely different about 20-30 years ago.

I think if you know some people well, as time goes by, you can tell the difference, even if they are twins.
