Australians are clawing their way back to the pinnacle of Test rankings with their dominant performance against the Srilankans. Even against the SAfricans they were nearly to their best except for the 3rd test which they lost and thus loosing the series.... But if one can see beyond that they performed really well...their pace battery is excellent so are their batter, right from the start with Warner, Watson, Clarke in his form of life and ever dependable Hussey...they are playing superb cricket... Other need to be aware of the Australian backlash in the coming year...Seems So to Me.

Yes Australia defeated Srilanka comprehensively but still they are not consistent enough as you see their result against South Africa. I think they need to be more consistent with performance like this at home and abroad. Lets wait and watch.

They were kind of dominant against the SA till the 2nd test, and one-off loss can be ignored..sa even when they were dominant earlier they did loose one-off matches here and there....they seem to be a good balanced team out there at the moment hungry for dominance.

Consistency is the case here. Its simple if they want to be on top they have to win consistently.

Yes, Australia has retained their tremendous form with well balanced team. There were some months they suffered without consistent players. Clarke himself is showing that he reliable and performing captain. It would be trilling to see matches between S Africa and Australia.

Of course, Asian teams will find hard to beat Oz on their home turf but this is not enough to say that they are on the track. Clarke and Hussey are the one that are making runs. Coming Ashes will tell everything when they will face England which is nearly complete as a team. I think England are on their way back...beware

Hi richclass Australians are really playing amazing cricket at present lead by inform Michael Clarke and talking about the present series against Srilanka the result of this series is decided before the Srilankans arrived there because everyone knows that sub-continent teams will suffer on fast bowling tracks .The real test for Clarke and the Australian will be when they come to India where Fast bowlers are not effective . We have to wait and see

Yeah is does seem so, but even the English fast bowlers were better than the Indian counterparts...and Aus have a tremendous fast bowler bunch, so it seems that they would be good if they maintain this kind of form and their batsmen would be very effective scoring runs in a heap. Need to wait and watch

I agree with you.Australian are now playing very good cricket and Clerk is doing exceptionally well. The way they are playing I don't see any huddle in their path to become no-1 in test cricket. It was the time when the great Australian player like Shane Warne, Mac Grath were retired and the team was going through a phase of transformation, the team slipped down to no-5 position.Though still they don't have very big names but all are preforming according to their potential and team winning one match after another.
