Is there a site similar to MyAnimeList.Net but only for a wide variety of books?

I read quite a lot of books and I can't seem to manage them at all that sometimes I find myself reading the same book twice or more. The site MyAnimeList.Net offers users, who are anime/manga lovers/readers, to manage their movies/comic books to specific order where one can see whether they are completed, being read/ being watched or to be read/ to be watched.
Is there a site that offers the same services where one can see how many books one has completed, planned to be read and are reading aside for blogging it online? I know it seems that I am asking if there's a site with a complete database of book titles with summaries plus offering users to create a database of their own... but I don't think it's impossible to find such a site considering technology nowadays...

Either LibraryThing or Goodreads may meet your needs. Those are the two major sites for tracking one's reading (and allowing you to post reviews of the books you read as well).
There are likely others out there, but I do not know them. These two are legitimate sites, and both have been around for a while.

At first look the two seems similar...but I still have yet to check out most of LibraryThing's features. Thanks for the information! I might catalog my books on both sites just to be safe. For one thing, I seem to have a problem logging in to Goodread using Chrome. But both sites seems to be very good.

Goodreads.com might work for you. I just saw a post from it on Facebook tonight telling me that one of my friends started reading a book. She posts reviews of books she's finished on there, too.

I registered in Goodreads.com and yes, this site seems to be the one I'm looking for. Thank you very much for introducing this to me! This is very helpful especially my mom has a rather large collection of books that I need to organize.

I remember long time ago you made a discussion about anime oh well if you are in Japan you will see all the readig books and anime store there but anyway back to you discussion since you are looking for anime readig website here are my suggestions:
Tenmanga.com,mangafox.com,animefreak.tv these are good list and if you have an iPhone you can download the manga storm app which is very awesome;-)

Actually, I am not looking for anything related to anime or manga. I was looking for a site where I can organize my read books and catalog them.
