It seems to be true that Steve Burton who played Jason Morgan on General Hospital is coming to The Young and the Restless. Many are surprised at this since the reason he gave for leaving GH was that he wanted to take a break from daily work of a soap. It seems likely that he will be cast as Avery's former husband. So this will probably create a triangle for Avery and Nick.

Are you serious!?!?! WHY!??!?!?! He had top dollar and billing at GH! Why would he do this? He supposedly moved to Tennesse...I wonder if Y&R is filmed in New York...closer to Tenn than Los ANgeles where GH is filmed. I wonder if he couldn't "cut it" in the "real world". SUrely he would have had enough money...he had other ventures. I just can't believe he'd trash Jason. Bet GH family is not so happy about this! I wonder to...wonder if he is trying to get out of his "Jason" box. But still...it's like replacing John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. You just don't do it! Oh well... guess we'll see. Where did you hear this?

Y&R is filmed in CA, West Hollywood to be specific and on the same lot where The Price is Right is filmed. See my response to AmbiePam above for some speculation on his motivation.

Oh, I thought it was filmed in NY...but that is worse...his reason for leaving GH was to move to Tennesse to make a nicer life for his kids to grow up in. He complained of having to drive 2 hours each way to work in the LA traffic (common out here!) and now he is going to air-commute? Or stay out here all week and fly home weekends? Or did he really move at all? And if you specs are right...that could surely trash his chance of ever going back to GH...that is low, if he did that. No matter where he goes...he won't have the power and draw and fan base he had as Jason on GH. And usually if you don't have those things, your salary indicates such. Nothing like burning every single bridge with one match!!! Hope you'll keep us posted!

When I first heard it I thought for sure it was just a rumor. But it appears to be true. Which makes me think, why did he lie? I mean if you're willing to go right back to a soap to work, doesn't that mean it was another issue that made him want to quit? I like Steve Burton, but not enough to follow him to Y&R.

The new leader, as of a few months ago, of the writing team, etc. at Y&R is someone that he has business connections with and who has been making a lot of changes at Y&R. He may have left GH legitimately for the reasons he gave but his friend and business associate persuaded him to come on at Y&R. There is no telling at this point how long a run is planned there or how much air time he will have. It could be a lot lighter load than he had at GH or maybe not. Just have to wait and see.

Oh I'm familiar with the writer who was formerly at GH and is now at Y&R. She's responsible for some of Gh's worst ratings in the past ten years! Thank goodness they fired her when they did. Now she's Y&R's problem.
