A Total Ban

Gone were the days when I have to hide inside my room during times like this. Why would I do that anyway? I am afraid of loud noises and much more afraid of having an accident caused by firecrackers blowing up in every corner. But with the new policy implemented through the efforts of the local government in our province, we will be celebrating the New Year's eve peacefully. Although the national government implemented the law regulating regulating the manufacture, sale and distribution of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices, our local government go beyond that. We have a total ban on firecrackers of all kinds. This is what we called Best Practice. I'm so happy! A salute to all the local government in our place for a job well done! Have a nice day everyone!

Now that really is good news, I have very sensitive hearing and find it difficult to shut out noise, I even have ear-plugs now, mainly due to the continuous barking dogs we have living near us. I wish our government would follow your example, mainly with fireworks, some of them sound like cannon blasts, but I guess with the November 5th, Guy Fawkes tradition this will never happen as it originated from this country.

Because I have pets I hate fireworks too. We normally had it on the beach each year, but the mess that was left behind also caused local government to ban fireworks at the beaches.
