Why is it that simple food is the best?

We had whats called hobo stew or boiled dinner in other countries and it was simply amazing. A few root veggies, some beef, water, salt and pepper. Boiled together into a perfect union of tastes and textures.... What simple food do you like better than the most complicated gourmet cuisine?

I personally like korean food and i find that their army stew is very appealing. It contains baked beans, ham, instant noodles, veggies, onions, and meat... all kinds of different meats. It is simple to make and its delicious too. Entices the taste bud and make your want to have more

Perhaps this is how you can taste the fresh flavor and it is not complicated. You know the nature flavor shall be the best.
