I have 2 antique ice cream churns and would like to make some ice cream. Can't find a good recipe for it though. I have had 3 failures already. Anyone have a recipe for ice cream in an old churn.

You can find a plethora of recipes on the internet. I volunteer at a place called Barberville Pioneer Settlement for the Arts. In the summer, we have an ice cream social for all of the volunteers. We have a bunch of antique hand crank churns and folks can bring their own special ingredients and recipes...All that is asked is, that you tell everyone if you "spike" one of the churns with a lot of booze...Some of us have a long drive home...

How fun, just wondering if you meant Barkerville. Cause I would love to check that out.

Just check the internet for ice cream recipes. Just make sure you have plenty of ice and rock salt. Not table salt. It's important to have the right kind of salt.
Make sure you have lots of help with churning the ice cream maker. It takes a lot to churn and it is more fun if family and friends take turns churning. And when everyone pitches in to help - the ice cream just tastes better. :)

Thanks, I have tried a few recipes from online and it didn't really turn out. But I'll keep trying.
