I find cable so expensive. We went with out tv for a year but now I have had cable for 6 months and might be bored with out it. Not sure if I should cancel it just to save 40 bucks a month.

I can, im just as happy with the radio as I am with a tv. Most of the time I turn tv on and only listen to it. So Id be just fine without a tv. Take care there.

If I had to live without TV, I probably could. I don't think that I would die from going without TV. But at 67 years old, TV has become very important in my life. In my younger days, I watched TV very little but now I watch it day and night. I wish that I could get cable for $40 a month. I am paying $175 a month for a bundle that includes the internet, home land line and digital cable with HBO. mY bill seems to go up every month. if it does not stop, I am going to have to make some changes. AT&T will give me a special package for a year. I hate to change but I may have to do it.

I can't afford cable so I'm just using regular tv with an antennae. I don't know if I spelled that right. I get at least 16 channels but nothing special and I sure do miss my cable. It has just basic stuff but a couple of good old stations that show oldies from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. It's fun to watch the old stuff and the old movies too. The rest is regular tv and regular shows that are newer.

Yes. I could definitely live without TV because that is effectively what is happening right now. I don't own a television and my landlord is so paranoid that I will break his nice television that he refuses to let me watch it. In addition the other boarder whose room borders the television has complained multiple times about the volume so my landlord and his wife got headsets from best buy to listen quietly. So even when they are watching I cannot hear the volume. I did want to see the Olympics so they gave me a Time Warner account so I can stream on the internet. That was nice of them. In general, I just watch DVDs or stream online. The internet connection is not so good though so sometimes the sound and video get out of sync which is super annoying. I think TV can be a huge time waste but I do like watching movies.

Television is to me the same as 'hanging-out with friends (without being able to visibly respond to them).' Without it, I would find some other (more-interactive but also more-costly (maybe not in terms of 'spending money,' but definitely in terms of 'personal effort') like 'blogging, myLotting, Facebooking, reading books and/or ebooks, writing letters, articles, books & scripts, going to church, etc.'

If I have an internet connection at home then why not, LOL :P but if the place that I am staying has no appliances or gadgets to perk me up, then I’ll be bored up and will be thinking of Television. Somehow such appliances such as TV, Computer, Music Player, and Cellular Phones are necessity in this modern lifestyle. It does not only give us the satisfaction of “entertainment” it is also a good information device that we can add up knowledge with such as news, music, and other communicational purposes.

First of all, watching tv is a waste of time. I watch tv often times when I home. We cut our cable because of expenses so we got local cables. I can live without it because I can do internet as my another option rather than watching TV.

I can live without tv. I am living without a tv right now and have not had one for 5 or 6 years. I'll watch tv if I stay the night at a motel when I'm visiting out of town. Or I'll watch it at either one of my daughters' house when I visit them. I really don't miss having a tv. I won't pay for a cable service. I can watch old shows and movies on hulu for free. Plus, they have some current episodes of different tv shows.

I don't think life would be any better without TV. I mean it is one way of making my house noisy when kids are not home. Eventhough I am busy with Mylot most of the time, I still turn on the tv.

We have not had cable for over a year now... It is not bad actually at all. My kids watch movies on their dvd player or on netflix. And I am always here, never watch TV so it doesn't bother me either.

I only pay $6.25 for cable per month. But I am not watching tv that much because I stay with my laptop most of the time. But my family loves it so I have to maintain it. If you don't need something for the time being you maybe you can request for a temporary disconnection. Happy New Year!

I could probably live without TV as long as I have Internet. For the most part, I do not watch TV programs as often anymore. I feel as though I spend more time on the Internet nowadays. But I am unsure whether or not I could live without Internet. I have to admit it, but I probably would have great difficulty trying to eliminate the use of Internet in my life.

Don't have a TV and haven't had a TV for 5 years. And don't even miss it. The only reason we had a TV is that we had an antenna and didn't pay for cable. We got about 4-5 channels and that was enough. My husband and I watch a lot on the internet and we watch DVDs. That is plenty. We find we don't have time to sit around and watch TV - we are busy doing things and living life!

if you have a computer and an internet connection, you can pretty much live without tv since you can find all things online anyway.
