I Got My Money Back - Gonna Research Lighting Online Now!

No questions were asked when I returned my chandelier to BHS as I did have my receipt after all. I was given the option of taking another one from the store but I declined and said I wanted my money back instead.
So, once I left the store I made sure I put the £60 in my bank so I wasn't tempted to buy something else with it (and it doesn't last 5 minutes if I don't spend it on anything in particular) so now I can do some online research on lighting.
I will be hard-pressed to find something for £60 but you know me, I'm not liable to give up easily!

Good luck.
EBay or some other auction site might be the key. Or it might be a matter of scouring listings for estate sales to see if something like that is about.
Looking at the selections in that price range on Amazon, it is clear that you have set out a pretty big task for yourself.

The chrome color one might actually be made of metal...

I really don't want to buy anything from Amazon if I can help it. Ebay has been lucky for me recently, what with the ace desk I bought.
I have seen a light fitting I like but I'm undecided. It can be bought in other colours apart from black, including purple, red, white and chrome. The chrome one is £6 more than the £63.99 which I'm not happy about! Mind you, it has been reduced from £86.16!

Good, glad you got your money back - no questions asked. At least you can say that you received good service from that company. I would check antique stores if you are interested in a chandelier without any plastic.
Amazing what bargains and items you will find when determined. You will probably find what you are looking, when you are not looking. It seems to be the way. I would ask around locally, as you never know where you will find your perfect chandelier.
All the best to you. :)

Thank you. I do know what you mean about finding something when not really looking. It's always the way isn't it?
I shall keep you posted.

Well done, good result in a way, although it still doesn't solve your problem of getting your chandelier! I know BHS is a reputable company and would have been surprised if they had held out, and as you rightly said you had your receipt. Good luck in your search and again try John Lewis if there isn't a store near you, try their website. I shall look forward in hearing that you have finally got it, patience, persistence and perserverance! The 3 P's!

The thing is I'll be struggling to find anything for that price that isn't made of plastic. In fact, some of the tackier chandeliers are about 30 quid now but I want something a bit better. The price of lighting varies wildly - even for the same item - so I'm going to have to be careful I don't get ripped off!

Good to hear you got your money back without a fuss.
I'd wish you good luck in your search for a replacement, but I know you'll find what you want.

If you look in the box above you (2 up I think) I've submitted a photo from the Wayfair website of a light I really like. It's sold in loads of different colours and finishes too, which heightens my indecision!

And just when you decide on which color, you'll find another one you like better...

well done on that. and it means you can go through the choosing process twice, which is twice as much fun.
it breaks my heart to suggest this, but tesco direct are quite good for home products. slightly upmarket quality wise to argos, but similar product range, just a little bit more classy. i do hate suggesting going to tesco but sometimes it just has to be done.
i know this because i have their direct catelogue lying around in my home, and sometimes waste time flicking through it, as the pictures are quite pretty.

Funnily enough, I was on the Tesco website earlier and on it it has items from other sites, which is strange but entertaining to look at all the same.
I will do some more research like I did with my desk..and we all know how successful that was..eventually!

I've been catching up on the last 3 episodes of 'Homeland' as my eyes were going all goggly doing my research online.
Gotta get back to it now. There is something I like but I'm undecided which is a woman's prerogative (word of the day) lol.
