New Year... New House...

Philippines
January 2, 2013 4:22pm CST
For almost 5 years now my husband and I have just been renting a house. We've been living in this rented house for 5 years now and the landlady is really nice. However, last year we finally decided to get a house of our own. It's more practical since the house we will buy is rent to own. I think it's just the right time since we ill be having our third baby will be here soon - July. I hope it's a baby girl this time. The eldest and 2nd child are both boys. The house is just a bungalow with 2 bed rooms and a garage. It has a front and a backyard good for kids to play with. I'm so excited to finally have a house of our own. Since it's also going to be our own house now we can always have it reconstructed. Finally, after 5 years we're no longer going to rent. Happy New Year everyone! :)

That's good to know. I always envy those who have their own home. It's stressful sometimes to always worry about the rent for the house. Good thing now that we will have our own. Ours is still going to be rented but it's rent to own. That's the good thing about it. I also always wanted to have my own flower and vegetable garden. That's what I'm so excited about our new home. Have a great day too...

We live in a small apartment. I live with my in-laws. There are no freedom of making decisions for our future. I really want to buy my own house so that we could live a better life.

Well, congratulations on your New Home. That is excellent news. I know what it must mean for yo uto have a house of your very own. A house to decorate, change and even reconstruct if the need arises. Also, congratulations on the new little bundle of joy. What a wonderful year 2013 is shaping up to be for you. I wish you and your husband and your sweet little family a beautiful much luck with the new baby and the new home.

Thank you. I'm really happy with all the good things and blessings coming this year. We've been through a lot and tough times for the past couple of years. I'm glad that there were people who supported us along the way - friends and family. We've also supported and helped each other and thankful it's finally paying off. There are still hard times and problems (they never go away) but we've been through really tough times and bigger problems before so I know whatever happens we can always make it through. And I agree with you that the most exciting part of having own house is I can always do what I want to do with it. I'm excited to decorate it especially the kitchen. I love to cook. Thank you again and may you have a year full of blessings.

Wow! Good to hear that. It's nice having a house of your own that you can decorate. You can always do whatever you want to do with it unlike if you're renting. 10 years os a very long time. We've been renting for five years and I already felt that it's a very long time. Hope you're enjoying your own home and loving it. I want the same thing for our new home, freedom, comfort and loving it. Nice day to you!

Well congratulations so finally you have your own house and that must be a great feeling. Five years is along time, your husband must be choosy person as taking time in making choice which house to buy. As backyard and a frontyard is there that means you are having a great space around your house so use it well to add it your house beauty. And reconstruction thing is an advantage that you only get in your personal house not in rented ones as whatever you get in rented houses you have to accept it. Since you already have two boys then its a time for baby girl and I hope it comes true. Have a nice time in your new house.

Thank You! My husband is really quite choosy. One thing also that we considered that's why it took us 5 years to decide getting our own house is how ready we are for the cost of getting our own house. We don't want to make a hasty decision especially if we're not ready yet. It's really a great feeling to finally having our own home. I can decorate it. I can also have a garden with the space and a mini- play ground for the kids. I want to be able to plant not just flowers but also vegetables at the backyard. That's why once everything is settled and we're already in a very good footing our next plan is to get a small farm. But, will do it one step at a time. I'm also looking forward to having a baby girl. Three more months from now and we'll know if the baby is a boy or girl. It really does not matter. If baby turns out to be a boy we will still love him the way we will do if baby is a girl. But since I already have two boys this time I really wanted to have a baby girl, someone I can dress- up with cute little dresses and booties... Have a nice day and wonderful year...

About two months ago i finally went to the new house i bought, to him i saved almost 10 years, but it was worth it!

That's great! It's really worth it because you don't have to worry anymore about the monthly rent. You can also do anything you'd want to do with your own home, decorate it to your own taste and liking. You must really be good in Saving. Hope you're enjoying your new home. Have a great day!

how exciting (yet scary!) we didn't have enough for a down payment yet we were being kicked out of our house (i was 7 months pregnant when we got a letter from this lady's lawyer. she wanted us out so her daughter could move in. she was a Christian and instead of going that route, it would have been nice if she would have asked us and explained the situation to us) fortunately for us, i had a couple of fairly wealthy aunts who gave us the money for the down payment. hope you love your house as much as we do! congratulations!

That's so sad, knowing someone would ever do that especially in your situation. I'm currently three months pregnant. I also hope we would love the house and that it would be a good place to raise the kids. One thing I love about it is that it's away from city buzz but just about 45 minutes ride from the city proper area. Good to know someone helped you when you were encountering such a very big problem. I'm happy for you that you love your house. Thank you!

Congratulation , new year and good things are happening already . When I finish school , we will start looking a home of our own and rent to own would be even more ideal . I would be excited too , that is a good foundation for you and your family . Happy new year to you also

Thank you! I agree that rent to own is a good idea but it's also something you have to be ready for. When we first heard about rent to own we were doubtful about it. We've been offered for the past few years to get rent to own houses but did not grab the offer. However, this year my husband and I felt we're both ready for it. Things are starting to get better for both of us. A lot of blessings coming and also support from family. That's why after 5 years we finally decided that we have to go for it this year.

Congrats on the new house. I love the idea of rent to own because it gives you a chance to save up for the down payment instead of having to get the money all at once. Right now Randy and I live in a two bedroom trailer and are hoping to expand a three bedroom. I want to own a home myself (we did once, but when Randy lost his job we had to give it up). I am hoping to start my own online craft business so I can get myself out of debt and we can save up to buy a home. I wish you all the best.

Thank you! I also hope that you'd get your own house again. There were a lot of offers in the past but we did not grab it because we both felt we're not yet ready for it especially for the monthly amortization. But a great deal came our way. We have a friend who's about to move to their new house this month. The Real Estate Company is having a promotion but it's first come first serve basis. The equity is so low about 75% low compared to the usual Equity. We just have to complete all the necessary documents needed. Good thing all our documents and checking account is all ready so we were prioritized on the list of the applicants and got the slot. This is a very good year for us. We've been through a lot my husband and I for these past couple of years. We've been in debt as well but things are getting better this year. I hope the same thing happens to you and Randy. You just really have to continue supporting each other especially during tough times. Wishing you a year full of blessings. Have a nice day!

congratulations for you and family for having a comfortable new house. woahh..you are big family and big house now. Rented house it's hard time, but you are really lucky that the owner was really kindly, because not all owner like that, sometime they want more upgrade the price about two or three years latter, or more terrible they using great moment like when gas price was up, they counting it to their rent house. once again, congratulations and great happy new year too.

I definitely agree with you that she's such a good landlady. She never raised the price of renting her house for the past years we've been renting. I think it's also because she knows we always do our part. We never bother her with any reconstruction or fixings needed. When something gets broken we let her know but don't let her pay for the work. We hire someone to fix it and pay for it. She's okay with that. I also consult her always with every decisions we make. Even when I hired a Nanny and someone to go to our house to do the laundry and house cleaning I asked her to talk to both helpers and get her advice if they're okay with her. We also have a good relationship with her. In fact, her husband is my eldest son's godfather during his baptism. She's also very concern with all her renters. She wants to make sure we're all comfortable with the place. She would always ask if we're fine. Even concern if transportation going to the office, etc. is easy for us. Probably that's also the reason she is so blessed. It's sad leaving her and her house that we rented for almost 5 years but we'll still see her during gatherings. Have a blessed year

It's nice to hear somebody who's going to have a brand new house. That's also my dream...to buy my own home. Although my husband has an inherited home, I really want to buy a home of my dreams, one that i will consider my own and a result of my hard works.

I can perfectly relate to you. It feels good when the house you have is because of your hard work. You can really call it your own. Well, if that's your goal and you focus and plan for it you'll have your own someday. Sometimes, it's just all about planning for it. getting ready and also perfect timing. Wishing a wonderful year full of blessings.
