Wearing a costume to the movies

I went to see the hobbit a couple of weeks ago and there were people dressed up like hobbits. I know that people also do this for other movies like star wars and stuff. Have you ever dressed up to go see a movie at the theatre. I guess I just don't get into things like that myself.

I read the Hobbit books when I was a kid...They were our Harry Potter. I think that it is cool that they are dressing up...By the way is the movie worth seeing. I have never dressed up, but my brother did the Spock thing. He looked a lot like Spock...

I actually liked the movie. It's not usually my thing, I didn't care for the lord of the rings movies but I found the hobbit to be more interesting. Has some great humor in it.

Although I have seen people dress up for such events, I am not really into dressing up for movies. I have nothing against people who dress, but it's just not for me.

I haven't done such a thing as well, thu I find it cute with little kids wearing costumes going to movie houses (looks weird with adults I think- hehehe) T-shirt for adults would be fine- with prints of their favorite movies. Maybe make up effect or hairstyle is fine with me,- but not the whole costume- hehe.

I think it's interesting to make yourself like someone in the movie. And i'd love to have a try cuz it's fun to change oneself when you never know who can you gonna be.But i'll never go to public places dressing like that.lol.Probably just at home.

I too have seen people dressed up like the hobbits when I went to see the movie. It's interesting to see those people and the effort they put on because they are fans of the book/movie or just really loves cosplaying. I only did that when my friend got married and has a theme Lord of the Rings. I had my costume made because it's my first time to do that so I was a bit excited and it's not awkward and embarrassing since all the guests are wearing LOTR costumes. I dressed up as Galadriel because it is forbidden to dress up like Liv Tyler aka Arwen for women and Aragorn for men. So I chose the costume of Cate Blanchett and even had a head dress and ears.

I cosplayed at the movies once and it was the first showing of Rise of the Guardians and I was dressed as Jack Frost. Surprisingly, the staff accepted it. They even gave me and my boyfriend fee popcorn and soda. How awesome is THAT!!! After the movie I got a photo with the manager. i concluded that it was something I needed to do more often.

No I never have & I can't see myself ever wanting to. Unfortunately I have a brother in law who loves to do this. He is a Sci-Fi freak. He loves Dr. Who & Star Wars & so he goes to the conventions they hold whenever they come to his home town & yes he dresses up in full costume when he attends. When the last Star Wars movie came out in the theaters he went to opening night dressed as Ankin Skywalker. Thank goodness this was before he became my brother in law. I don't mean to make fun of people who do this but I think that after a certain age one really should grow up & not embarrass themselves, their loved ones, or any NORMAL friends they may have.
