absurd land tax... :( another huge problem

Before we were just paying 100 pesos a year for our land, where we have our house since it's just a small land, 500 square meters.. Now we have to pay more than 11 000 pesos.. They said it was because the lands in our place has increased in value. 
It has increased 10900%... 
My mom is asking around if it's really true, since we don't even have that kind of money.. I am really worried...

I don't know where exactly you lived here in our country.
Our land is small compared to yours, ours is just 120 sq.m and we are paying more than 3thousand pesos for the tax.
We lived here in metro city so I am not sure if the tax declaration for your land is just enough for a 500 sq.m.
Maybe you can ask more info from legal person who knows more about this matter.

I like in the Philippines, but they are saying that the reason why we have this huge land tax, even if we own the land is that the price of the land in out city has increased.. maybe it's because there are malls built.. We are asking around.. and they even have more to pay.

You can check from NHA I guess, I am not sure where exactly to check these kind of legalities since it's my parents who are paying...
Well, we pay it in City Hall, but I know there are departments that specialize on this matter.

Yes, we do that too- we just pay in the City Hall. But before i never knew that we still had to pay taxes even if it is our land anyway.. I really do not like paying taxes since i know none of the money comes back to us since our officials are corrupt here- in our city.

Here in China, we do not have the right to own land, so when we have to buy a house or an apartment, we have to pay 70 years land rent at once. But now in the name of controlling the crazy house price here, the government want to tax the land every year for the land.
I think if we are the land owner, maybe we have to pay the tax for keeping the land, but we are not and we have to pay the fee for using the land.

Oh, it is quite great that you don't need to pay for the land for 70 years at one-- since that is quite a big amount of money. Yearly is fine.. here, even if we own the land, we still have to pay, but before it was just a small amount.. I really hate this, since the tax won't even come back to us.. and into their pockets..
