It can be difficult to maintain a sense of humor when we would rather be grumbling, yet it has been shown that sharing humor with our loved ones can help us grow closer to one another in a natural and enjoyable way. Laughter and jokes can offer more than a simple diversion for when we and the people we care about laugh together, we learn to associate our friends and family with positive, pleasurable emotions. In challenging times, we can smile with one another instead of commiserating. Does sharing laughter with family and good friends help you, even in difficult times?

Humor seems to come when I'm with family and friends. We all love to laugh. I can usually find a joke, or make one up to fit the occasion, and when that happens friends can often come right back with another joke. We enjoy family and friends very much whenever we can get together.

Hi Pose! I sure do like it when all of my family is in a good mood and laughing. I really feel scared when there is a bunch of stress and yelling going on. I love hearing funny things being said on Facebook. My family likes to share them. I love when the mood is light.

Hi Pose: Yes it does. I feel lucky for having such a special sister that has this beautiful sense of humour and can put a smile upon my face in almost every situation. Thanks to her good attitude we are friends and not just brother and sister. I am more a serious person so it's more difficult to me to laugh and try to make people laugh in bad moments. People actually say that my kind of humour is more "sarcastic"
I have to work on this because laughing is the best medicine.

Oh yes. That is the truth about laughter is the best medicine. Yes. It is really true. Have you notice those comedian on television or on movies? If we get to know them personally, they have problems and conflict in life, but laughter is a one way to divert themselves from stress and depression. They share it to audience, family and good friends.
So as your question, yes. It does help me. Sometimes I joke within here in our family and sometimes if I am not in mood, I just keep quiet.

Yes, I believe sharing laughter is the best medicine. Moreover to the family. They know us better than anyone else, even when we don't realize it. Right? I know I haven't had my own family, but I always share stories and jokes with my parents. But at least now I also have a boyfriend to share everything with. Heheheh...

In an interesting article I read about how to live to be a hundred, one of the ways was to laugh at least 20 times a day, reading this I thought how difficult this would be. Apparently laughter boosts the immune system, slashes stress hormones and stimulates killer T-cells, which fight cancer. But as adults we only laugh an average of five to fifteen times a day, while children can easily clock up over a hundred daily giggle bouts. I think as adults we lose the skill of laughter, it's like a childish thing that we think we should grow out of when it fact it should be encouraged. There are so many benefits in laughing. For me I find putting on a comedy will help me laugh more. I got a box set of Laurel and Hardy for Christmas, mum and I watch them together, and between us easily managed more than 20 laughs in a day! So maybe that's the trick.

I found out that laughter even helps wonderfully if I dont have anyone around to share it with. I sometimes do that, start laughing remembering or reading something funny, most of the time, and it helps to relieve stress and do better in other areas of life.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed wonderful year 2013.

Yes, it can be difficult to maintain humor in difficult times. But I find that, even though things are difficult now, I still have my sense of humor. And I think it helps me somewhat. I know if I lose that then I will probably have hit rock bottom.
And I have a few friends who make me laugh and I feel better, even it is only for a minute or two.
