Aadhar/ UID furore

Just few years back the Govt of India had started the PAN card campaign ,citinmg that it will help the government in identifying its citizens through central database . Now our dearest government is stongly voicing the need for UID card citing the same reason . The only difference this time is that nobody has to pay anything to make and get UID card unlike incase of PAN card where an individual has to shell out about rupees one-hundred or more. The UID generation process is using biometrics technique to identify an individual free of cost. Maybe this is what is making us rush to the nearby enrollment camps and waiting in line for hours for getting the registration slip/receipt. But the point of discussion is what-if in near future, the govt. decide on genetic-profiling or genetic-fingerprinting to identify its citizens and starts such a campaign again ?

Hi Good one. I agree our government keeps on changing everything. They bring in new processes . They may in near future get the genetic profiling no doubt about that. They are introducing new systems /cards with different technology and trying to cash out in all possible ways. I dont think this will stop in near future.
