So Sick...

I am trying my best to be here and push through how I am feeling. Last night I was getting a little dizzy and I had a bad headache all day...And I felt a heaviness in my chest. I knew something was coming on... I woke up this morning and holy cow! I am coughing so bad I sound like I am dying, my headache is twice as bad, I am really dizzy, I feel super tired, and my body just hurts all over. I have never felt this sick before, phew. I just want to go back to bed but that's not possible with my kiddos. I have to clean the house, don't think I will be doing that either. I just feel like complete and utter crap! Nobody tell me to go to the doctor-I do not go there ever unless I am truly dying! I hate doctors, just saying... I need someone to bring me some chicken soup and some hugs might help too!

I don't care for doctors myself but with the symptoms you have, you might not have any choice. Don't bother cleaning the house, and go lay on the couch with the kids playing right in front of you. That's about the best idea I can come up with along with lots and lots of fluids...and Tylenol for the fever, aches, pains and headache. I feel very bad for you because I know how hard that is when you have kids. Maybe when your husband comes home he will take over for you I hope. I can send you some chicken soup and hugs in thought so here goes.., the chicken soup you'll have to visualize. Take your temperature and see what it is.

I know, I am putting it off as long as possible though! If by tomorrow I'm not feeling a tiny bit better my husband might make me go... I don't think I can clean the house with the shape I'm in right now. Lol. My husband will just have to get over it... I have been taking Tylenol cold and flu, I'm hoping it will work. It is tough with the kids because they still need me to do things for them, so it makes it kind of hard to rest and relax. Thank God their pretty good kids though. =) I'm sure he will take over when he gets home, he's usually good like that. I am picturing the chicken soup-yummy! I do have a fever too, 102.3. Hopefully the meds will break that soon too.

It's most likely the flu so the best thing is what I mentioned above...fluids, Tylenol, and rest (somehow ) which I know is hard. That's about all you'll be able to do and basically what a doctor would tell you too. It's the fluids that are the most important because if you de-hydrate, that can land you in the hospital very quickly and I KNOW you don't want that. If you are going to try to eat, I would make it very light..sort of like "cream of rice" cereal so your stomach doesn't get upset. A banana will help if you have the dirty squirties too, and so will the cream of rice cereal, plus it will fill your stomach a bit but not hurt your intestines. I hope you feel better soon and this doesn't last too long for you. I know your children will understand cause they're good kids...little, but good kids.

Most definitely, just took my meds again, made some beef soup since that is all we had, added some garlic since it's good for us, and as for the resting... maybe later! I will hopefully get to do that once hubby is home...

Ah, just like me, unless you are dying, No Doctors!!! Unfortunately I got hit with 2 viruses followed by a third as I as getting over the first two. The third was not so bad, but when I got hit with the first two, I did end up at the doctor's.. So get plenty of rest and "LOTS of water, (My last appointment was because I was getting dehydrated and as a big water drinker, that is unusual) and I hope you don't get any worse...

If you don't like water, and I love water and was getting dehydrated, then I suggest you find some flavored water. The best is to go into the organic section of your grocery store and find a flavored water there, because the energy drinks like gatorade, they still have some ingredients I don't think we should consume when we are healthy, let alone sick...That is what I had to do..

Oh yes no doctors unless I'm in labor or dying! Lol. Wow, I cannot imagine having 3 viruses at the same time, that had to be awful! I will be forcing myself to drink water, since I hate it it's going to be difficult but I will try! Thanks I hope I don't get worse either...

Have some chicken noodle soup delivered or have the hubby bring some in. Make sure that you are staying hydrated and are consuming foods that will help to boost your immune system. Since you are now sick, the focus needs to be on limiting the severity and length of the illness. You also need to take necessary measures to limit the possibility of making your family members ill. If they become ill, this may become one of those things where you just keep passing it around the household--not good.

Yeah I am going to have my hubby bring some home to me when he gets off work. Soup is cheap, thank God. I know, unfortunately I have 3 kids. I am just hoping I don't give it to them! They have little colds but nothing like what I have thank goodness.

i heard that this season's version of the flu is quite severe. from the sounds of it, sounds like you have it. i think one of my co-workers has it as well. i get a flu shot every fall so that helps me avoid the flu for the most part. my problem is that i get lung infections all the time during the winter. i hope you feel better very soon. it is tough being sick and having to look after kids.

Sounds like you have the flu... (Hope you didn't get it from Stoutjodee's discussion...) Take whatever pain reliever you normally take and drink plenty of fluids.
• Valdosta, Georgia

I was just thinking that! Lol, but I would still never get the flu shot, this is the first and only year I have ever gotten the flu. I know I got it from some family members that had it... Never had it before, never will again! I have been taking tylenol cold and flu.

If the fever doesn't break soon, consider soaking in a cool bath, or even just putting a bag of ice or frozen peas on your head.

I will go for the bag of ice, I could not get in a cool bath! Brrr.

I am also sick at the moment. I cannot sleep every night. Maybe I can felt relax for about 2 hours then after that I will experience cough. I hate this kind of illness. I am wondering, why I only experience this kind of ill if I spent more than a week in my mother-in-laws house.

I am sorry to hear that you are sick. I guess your way of treating illness, with chicken soup and hugs, is a very good and ancient way. It seems to boost the immune system. Check online other natural ways to help out with your immune system. If it`s a virus, there`s nothing you can do anyway. My grandma gave us melted warm honey and lemon juice to stop cough. Take care.

Thank you. It has been awful, I really don't think I have ever been this sick before! I do believe in more natural ways to cure things, but I am taking tylenol just to break the fever, I hope it actually works! I will check out more ways as well.

It is so bad that you are sick but that is something real. You want to be healed but you hate a doctor? How could you be healed? REst, take some herbal medicine if you want to go to the doctor and declare that you will be healed.
5 Jan 13
Okay if you hink you will that way go ahead. Just stay at home and relax.
• Valdosta, Georgia
5 Jan 13
I will be healed at home since I am doing what the doctors would tell me what to do anyway. No point in going to a doctor, and doctors don't heal in my opinion...

You must have caught a cold and fever.Such problems are rampant in this season.I would like to suggest you to keep drinking warm water after regular intervals and ensure not to get exposed to cold weather or anything cold. You may boil turmeric powder boiled with water and drink it.And,last but not the least, visit your doctor as soon as possible.Otherwise you would have to suffer for a long time.

I sympathize completely, because I am just recovering from a bout that sounds an awful lot like that. I had aches and pains, chills and fever and a sore throat. Food was the last thing I wanted. I didn't get sick to my stomach, but when I thought of food, my stomach said "no!" I was so tired that I barely made it from the bed to the couch and back again. Do whatever you can to rest. When your body says rest, it needs it. Get your husband to do whatever he can.

That is exactly how I am feeling! The chills and fever only hit me later on today and they came on strong unfortunately... Yeah I am feeling sick in the morning, after that I just don't want food but the sickness goes away. It took everything I had in me just to eat a bowl of soup earlier, but I knew I had to eat something... I will try to rest as much as I can. I know I really could use it!

Isn't horrible when Mom gets sick? We have to push through and keep things going because the household only works at its best when we're healthy! I remember a particular incident that happened to me. It was in 1998, just six months after I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. It was New Year's Eve, and I had been working that evening. We got out of work early, and that week, the flu had been going throughout the department. My coworker and I decided to have an early dinner, both being mothers, and went to a local restaurant when it started. My throat was just starting to get sore; and by the end of the meal, I felt like crap and didn't even want my champagne! I went home and laid down-I was out in moments. I think it was only a short time before I had to get up AND I COULDN'T MOVE MY LEGS! My husband refused to help me, and even began to scold me for "faking" being sick! I cannot bring you chicken soup, but I can give you some well wishes and hugs in the meantime.

I hope that you're feeling better now. Yeah, that was pretty rotten of him to say that. That's why he's my EX husband. Still working on getting my boyfriend to realize that I have my down days, but I think he's starting to get it now.

It is so horrible when I get sick since I still have to take care of everything while my husband is at work and I really don't feel up to it. But I am stubborn and will get through it like I always do! Wow, I cannot believe he thought you were faking that! =( Thank you for the hugs and well wishes, those are great too!

Girl, you could make it so much easier on yourself if you'd go to the....dakotas. The dakotas would get you better really quick. In the meantime if you don't visit the dakotas, try to get the vitamin C, and maybe some Tylenol Flu tablets. Or Advil Flu. Or something that treats the flu.

They'd probably give you antibiotics which would work faster than what we said. But hey, some people just don't take to the dakotas. My dakota before my current one got arrested. That dakota went to jail.

I won't go! Their just going to tell me the same exact thing everyone here already said, not much point in that... I am taking tylenol cold and flu. I had some soup too, I'm hoping it will get it out of my system.

Clear soup or Chinese? Which one? Quick. I have to go shopping for the chicken. Mostly I go for a live one but no I don't kill it as chickens I keep as pets. So I will have to wait for my maid to do that job when I am not looking. That done I will have to separate meat from the bones and you know how long that takes. And then oh no! where are the recipes? I have lost them. I will soon find them (*searching). There they are. Once I know your preference I shall go about it pronto. And may be just may be by the time you get through to me you could be fit as a fiddle just saving me the bother of getting you that soup? Hugs are cheaper by the dozen here. So here's one
