what is wrong with me! my supervisor ask, how many page you have done? actually i don't make any page. i just finish reading it. i keep silent, and i don't know what to ask. the i just said i only make note in my book, not yet transfer into proper word in microsoft words. then after we back home. she ask (she is my lab friend), i know u did not do the work, but learn how to answer. just lie any number to him. later u said u will email him the work. she said she do that a lot. so many time. i was just.. in my heart. you are lucky, everything already provided. me? i need to start from the beginning. arghhhhh sometime it was kind the annoying. but what can i do. everyone get different based on your luck and talent. maybe i was so dumb at first giving her the opportunities doing that work. i just can accept it now. cannot being so mad about it. do you lie?

hi ungu Why don't you just d o the work then you will not have a thing to worry about? As for telling lies do not do that just do your work in a timely fashion and be done with it. Much easier 'than telling lies and getting all messed up with it.

Don't lie. Tell supervisor exactly what your performance is. Bosses are there to help accomplish things, especially things hard to understand and perform.

Sometimes I tell a lie. But if I know that what I said won't be harmful with others and they can help something better.

I don't think that it would be a good idea to lie, especially about work that needs to be done. Because then what if you get caught you know. Then they will be like, well, I thought you had some of it done already though you know and then you will be caught in your lie. I wouldn't have lied about it, I would have just been honest and most of the time your supervisor will respect you for being honest with them. I would never lie about work that I didn't do.

I would never lie to my boss or supervisor. If I can't perform a certain task, and my boss orders me to do something I can't do, I would come clean and say, "you know what? I can't do it" Now, one thing I don't get: your friend asked you to lie to your boss? I am not quite sure if I understood the situation. But lying is never the answer.

Workplace lies have their place. I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't told a few lies, said I was more experienced than I was. The important thing is whether you can back up your lies. In my case it was skill sets that I hadn't actually acquired yet but was more than confident in my ability to learn while doing. So far so good, just don't overdo it.

I don't lie so much as not tell the whole truth. If I think hte truth will hurt someone then I may be very careful of what I say. Like if they ask me if I like the color of their tie or shirt and I don't in fact it looks terrible on them I may say, the shirt is alright, it's just not to my liking. Instead of saying No, i hate that shirt and would never wear it where others could see it. That would just hurt their feelings and for what reason?

There are certain things that we don't need to tell everyone. I think a lot of problems also happen when we are too honest and when we give out information that will be bad for us.

Your supervisor needs an answer. Sitting there in silence is NOT an answer. If you don't want to lie or stretch the truth, then tell your supervisor the TRUTH. At least, your supervisor will respect you for standing up to the truth. What you could say to your supervisor is how you are planning to accomplish your work. You could say; 'I have only made notes so far, but will complete my work by the end of the day.' Then, your supervisor knows that although you are a slow starter, you have a daily plan and you know you will accomplish your work. Don't lie but also give your supervisor a positive report. Think out your work and have a plan as to how you are going to accomplish your work.
